Electocalypse, USA 2020

Subtitle: DisgRace 2020

It’s election day over in the US. Right now I’m watching a fucking amazing movie made by Cody’s Showdy. You need to check it out while we wait for the hammer to fall.

This post is purely to give us somewhere to sit and chat in the comments. And for the historical record.

About Hatboy

I’m not often driven to introspection or reflection, but the question does come up sometimes. The big question. So big, there’s just no containing it within the puny boundaries of a single set of punctuationary bookends. Who are these mysterious and unsung heroes of obscurity and shadow? What is their origin story? Do they have a prequel trilogy? What are their secret identities? What are their public identities, for that matter? What are their powers? Their abilities? Their haunted pasts and troubled futures? Their modus operandi? Where do they live anyway, and when? What do they do for a living? Do they really have these fantastical adventures, or is it a dazzlingly intellectual and overwrought metaphor? Or is it perhaps a smug and post-modern sort of metaphor? Is it a plain stupid metaphor, hedged around with thick wads of plausible deniability, a soap bubble of illusory plot dependent upon readers who don’t dare question it for fear of looking foolish? A flight of fancy, having dozed off in front of the television during an episode of something suitably spaceship-oriented? Do they have a quest, a handler, a mission statement, a department-level development objective in five stages? I am Hatboy. https://hatboy.blog/2013/12/17/metalude-who-are-creepy-and-hatboy/

  1. Damon Holston says:

I’m up and not excited about the next few days. Thanks for setting this up to document our most glorious demise. I haven to work, so I will check in when I can.

    • aaronthepatriot says:

I’m up, again, after being up for 2 hours in the middle of the night. There was some weird screaming noise that repeated, and I’m sure it wasn’t a dream.

Then I got to thinking all the ways this could go wrong even if Biden landslides. We know cops are Fascists, what if Secret Service agents are, too? All it would take is one “leaker” to send out “Biden is here: XXXXXX” and it could be all over.

And who the fuck knows what happens then but you can be damn sure it won’t be lawful.

Did you know last weekend a bunch of Trump MAGA chuds tried to run Kamala Harris’s bus off the road? Yeah, this is America. We on the left accept a monster like Trump won the election. Then he polarizes us so far the right will kill our candidate if they get a chance.

      • stchucky says:

Oh yeah, I saw the videos of that on Twitter but haven’t seen much reaction to it in terms of the normal pundit vloggers I watch. Seems like just more of the same and everyone’s just waiting to see how mad it gets.

Good to see our USian contingent checking in.

    • aaronthepatriot says:

Meant to add, Kamala had to cancel her rally out of fear. Trump gets 3 rallies a day and no one threatens a hair on his head. America.

  2. Damon says:

    “Patriots” ha!

  3. Damon says:

Well if they went to school in Texas they were probably given a slightly different definition than the OED.

  4. Damon says:

Texas claims to be it’s own nation still. There are secessionists in government there.

    Some light reading – https://www.politico.com/f/?id=00000175-72c2-dc1a-a5f7-fae72f290000
A list of celebrities that the White house considered (is considering?) to do Covid PSAs and who they would reach.

    • Toon says:

Oh wow. Apart from the document itself being a complete embarrassment, a $300m campaign? Umm…isn’t there slightly higher health priorities to be spending taxpayer money on in the US right now?

      • aaronthepatriot says:

Well, quite. Priorities of all sorts that would be, I was going to say MORE beneficial than pitting Americans against one another, but that would imply pitting us against one another is actually beneficial. They may think it is, for now. Wait until the country burns to the ground.

Someone, somewhere, has probably tallied up all the money that could be identified as being used in this way, to just get some of us to hate others of us. I bet it’s staggering. So staggering it would depress me so I’m not going to look for it.

      • Toon says:

Where’s the best website to get the fastest and most accurate live updates on the election do you think?

      • aaronthepatriot says:

Well, You’re what, 10 hours ahead of us? We’re GMT -5 (damn, I think…EST anyway). We’re not going to have any results to show until about 7pm our time, maybe later. There will be other news of course, like turnout, but not results.

So your best bet is to just go to sleep and when you wake up, see what’s up. At that point you won’t need the best site, they’ll all be (except Fox News of course and the like) reporting basically the same numbers. I’d compare the East Coast states’ results to 2016, and if Biden’s doing better than Hillary, we’re probably good to go. On the votes at leasts.

I say, support independent media and watch TYT on youtube. That’s what I’m going to do. Their stream starts at 1pm EST.

      • stchucky says:

I want three hundred million bucks. Someone give me three hundred million bucks.

        Okay, hundred and fifty million.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

Toon (and everyone else but she asked) here’s a great resource about all the most important states, how they count votes, whether they’re fast or slow, etc. More information than you probably want, honestly.

  5. Damon says:

I don’t think they care about pitting Americans against each other, it distracts from the underlying issues and you know someone will profit from it.

  6. Damon says:

I am reading The Guardian myself.

  7. Damon says:

An aside, why can’t I get a reply button after three replies? I would rather continue threads than start new ones sometimes.

    • aaronthepatriot says:

Yeah, it’s irritating, but just reply as far down in the chain as you can, it all locates itself pretty well.

      • Damon says:

        JFC!
        see below, ugh

      • aaronthepatriot says:

        “Sir, calm down.”

Do you get email notifications of these comments? You can turn that on by checking a box on the comment page when leaving a comment.

Then, if you click the “reply” button in your email notification, it will always align to the correct comment in the thread.

      • stchucky says:

Yeah, WordPress isn’t a great forum for long threads but we’ll have to muddle through (golly).

  8. Damon says:

how do I reply properly? the button only shows up for a couple reply posts and then disappears and i have to start a new post

  9. Damon says:

I was outside just now having a stress smoke and spoke to one of my coworkers while I was enjoying the 60 degree weather. When I asked him if he had voted he said no and that he “doesn’t believe in it”. He said he doesn’t “pay attention to politics” and “they are all bad”. He also said that “you can’t change the fabric of the country” regardless of who is in power. Minnesota is pretty solidly blue, so it won’t hurt the vote in the state, but it makes me want to shake him and say read ALL THE BAD STUFF THAT TRUMP HAS DONE, IS DOING AND WANTS TO DO!

On a different subject, ya know how Republicans support trickle-down economics? It never seemed to trickle down, but Trump has trickle-down politics and that seems to be working its way further and further in to the populace.

    • stchucky says:

That is fucking insane. All of it. If you’re ideologically opposed to voting and taking part in the democratic process, that’s one thing (and still a kind of dumb thing I don’t agree with). But to say it makes no difference and all the choices are bad? What are you, a spoiled ten-year-old?

      • Damon says:

It’s actually worse, he also Black, but it isn’t my place as a white man to explain racism to him.

      • stchucky says:

I can understand his disillusionment but I’m willing to bet all the great black civil rights activists voted.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

Yeah, that’s disturbing but I can understand…because our votes often do not count, particularly black votes. What Republicans have done to disenfranchise them is beyond simply criminal.

Today, no stories yet of violence at polling places. I’m genuinely surprised.

      • stchucky says:

Folks are confident here in Finland. Hopes are high. I’m hoping it will be a solid win and the maga losers will be too chickenshit to do a damn thing. Still worried it can still go bad, because this year has been like that.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

Oop but now I’m seeing NYT reporting that the post office has lost some 300,000 ballots. If the predictions on turnout are right, and I think they are, that’s only 0.2% of the vote. But still.

Cenk has a great video on why he thinks the polling is actually lower than reality for Biden this time around, if you want to see it. But actually at this point we should just wait for the results, eh?

Basically, there are some ridiculous right-wing polls included in the polling averages, dragging Biden down when every other poll disagrees. The sort of outlier you might eliminate from a scientific data set.

If you fucking loved science you would, at least.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

Damon it’s going to be just you and me overnight. How you doin?

I have a question to ask you, now that it’s just down to us murricans….

On Tue, Nov 3, 2020 at 12:45 PM Hatboy’s Hatstand wrote:

      • stchucky says:

Aye, it’s 11:10pm here and I’m turning in. Good luck to us all and I’ll see you in the morning.

      • Toon says:

I just woke up! It’s 5.30am here. Clearly I sleep through the night because there are no Thomas Pynchon books to be found anywhere near the bedroom…
Thank you for that link Aaron, that was actually the kind of detail I was after.
I was going to ask Hatboy out of idle curiosity if voting was compulsory in Finland as it is in Australia and if not whether most people voted anyway but it seems he’s wussed out and gone to bed but perhaps he might answer that question sometime later if he remembers and world events haven’t overtaken us all by the time he wakes up…

      • aaronthepatriot says:

Hey welcome I’m glad I’ll be able to chat with you throughout the election night then! It’s gonna be a long one, are you in?

And I guess this works better since you’re a woman, I was gonna drop this on Damon but he’s AWOL.

Since we have the blog to ourselves, wanna cyber? XD

      • stchucky says:

Voting is not compulsory in Finland. As a non-citizen resident, I am allowed to vote in local elections but not parliamentary and presidential elections.

Tuning in on some videos now, it looks stupidly, frustratingly close but I am yet to have my coffee.

      • Toon says:

Lol yeah I’ll be around on and off for at least the next 15 hours… Damon probably sensed you were going to start talking dirty to him and ran a mile…😂

      • aaronthepatriot says:

on and off again hur hur XD

Anyways glad to have you here, this is actually REALLY fricking cool. Maybe hatboy will have sleeping problems and we’ll have a total shindig here.

In my defense I’m at about 8 drinks now. You should see how sex-focused I get when I’m REALLY wasted.

      • Damon says:

I will need to catch up, I have only had the one. What were asking me about specifically?

      • Toon says:

Hatboy’s going to wake up to find Aaron filth all over his blog. He really should have known better than to have declared he was leaving the Hatstand unattended while the kiddies were still awake all over the world…

      • aaronthepatriot says:

Lady, if you even are a lady, I have not begun to eject my filth onto his blog. As Galdolf, said, “Don’t tempt me, Frodo!”

      • stchucky says:

He did, he did say Galdolf. He was obviously thinking of Sir Bob Galdolf, who as we all know was no stranger to temptation. And had grey and white phases.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

I didn’t SAY anything on this blog, because there’s no voice feature!

Hey, if you’re going after typos then this is fair game too.

Also, we’re having way too much fun, so I have to ask:
How many Americans do you think killed themselves last night because it wasn’t clear that we’d escaped this Fascist nightmare?

Maybe it wasn’t many, but it was probably non-zero. And that’s got me enraged. Because I see now that SO MANY clearly pro-Biden areas were slow to report, or delayed, or weird things happened like the water main.

It’s like either they didn’t realize how much we have psychologically invested in this election, or they know and they don’t care, or Republicans fucked with it.

I want consequences. I want investigations and payback for all of this. It is completely unacceptable.

      • stchucky says:

That’s a grim thought but I honestly hope and believe it can’t have been that many. Surely if they were going to give in to despair they’d wait until it was actually announced and irretrievable. Bush / Gore made that a pretty inexact prospect. An election ballot count has to take longer than election night. To insist otherwise is absolutely ludicrous. If I hadn’t seen flat earthers, 5G tower corona theories, and cunts who want to eat lava this year, I would have said it was unthinkable that anyone would actually believe something this dumb.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

Also Damon wrote “a lack of uninformed voting” and yet he makes fun of my grammar. That’s it, I switched my vote to Trump because you guys were mean to me. Bunch of hippo crates.

      • Damon says:

        Touche.

I had written informed and went back and changed it when rereading the post. Not sure what I was thinking, but considering I’m a little hungover it’s not surprising. I’m going to run the entire thread through spellcheck and itemize al da mistakez.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

Holy fuck I am laughing my ass off at the Galdolf Jjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjif XD

      • stchucky says:

I turn a blind and permissive eye on many things in My dominion, but I WILL NOT ABIDE YOU SAYING JIF

      • aaronthepatriot says:

Oh yeah and what are you going to do about it, huh? Edit my post so it doesn’t say jif? I double dog dare you.

Jif jif jif, jiffity jif, jif to the mothafucking jif.

      • Damon says:

        Please ban. https://giphy.com/gifs/klgandhoda-dance-dancing-4T1yIijxvNWdIrnMbq
its GIF you dumb fuck, like Kathie Lee GIFford

      • aaronthepatriot says:

When you invent something, you can decide how to pronounce it. Until then, eat a bag of Jif

        Peanut butter.

      • Damon says:

I love Jif peanut butter. Natural creamy is so good!

      • stchucky says:

        *strolls in, coffee in hand*

        WHAT IS ALL THIS MESS

      • Toon says:

Are you questioning my gender or my ladylike standards? Either way Aaron I’m most definitely a laydeee, as in defintely female and most definitely ladylike. Lol. Except for my language, ya cock sucking fuckhole. 🤣
No personal offence intended of course, just yankin’ ya chain…or is that just an Australianism that makes no sense to an USian with by now 15 drinks under his belt and suffering a shitload of electoral stress? Just in case, just having some fun with you is the translation…

      • Damon Holston says:

Loved “cock sucking fuckhole”. What are y’all drinking? Toom – coffee and bourban? Aaron – moonshine? Me, I am on Michter’s Rye.
Yanking your chain is not exclusive to Australia, FYI. We have it here too. For instance, Trump has conceded the election! You’re yanking my chain?”

      • Toon says:

Cock sucking fuck hole a term of affection. Really.
Ever since an English relative told me they spent ages puzzling over what I meant by “arvo” in a text, I’ve never been quite sure what I think are everyday terms are understood by non- Australians.
Drinking English breakfast tea with milk and sugar. I’m a lady, remember….

      • Damon says:

Being a ‘lady” doesn’t mean you aren’t an alcoholic! Get some booze in ya! (bantz!) I assume you know what bantz is???
Does arvo mean afternoon? Like, “hey”? Or, “g’morning”? Or, “sup”?

Back on topic, utterly useless poll data is starting to come in, like 1% precincts reporting. The biggest thing to monitor is how much Mr. Orange has gained or lost in a county and what that means for the state as a whole. Red states gonna red and blue states gonna blue, it’s the baby blue and pick states that matter.

      • stchucky says:

Arvo is a funny one, because in Finnish it means “estimation”. And I’ve seen some hilarious exchanges over the word “cunt”. In Australia it’s punctuation. USians just can’t seem to handle it responsibly. You know, like guns. Elections. Medicine. Scissors with non-rounded ends.

      • Toon says:

On the train to work now, I’d have to be a pretty serious alkie to be drinking right now 😀
I know Bantz, love a bit of banter, and yes arvo means afternoon, but not as a greeting, more like “are you doing anything this arvo?”
        Has Aaron passed out?

      • Damon says:

I just learned bantz recently, there is a footie cartoon on The Guardian by David Squires that uses it often. They do an A League one too if I remember right.

Aaron has a family and as it is 8pm his time he is putting them to bed in order to come roaring back or is passed out with a pissed off wife and kids, it’s a toss up, kinda like this election.

I have never been a day-drinker or morning alkie myself, I prefer to wait until after work so I can feel the full hangover effect in the morning.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

I’m doing fucking fine you motherfucking cunts, to say it in Australian. 15 drinks is a fuckin joke, Babies.

      • stchucky says:

Aaron has a family and as it is 8pm his time he is putting them to bed in order to come roaring back or is passed out with a pissed off wife and kids, it’s a toss up, kinda like this election.

        Best comment so far.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

Sorry no, my mom called me, crying (dad died last summer) so I was distracted for a while. Toon, nothing you have revealed has removed your lady status, for me. In my book a lady can drink a man under the table, suck a dick like nobody’s business, whatever. Almost a meaningless term I use entirely ironically.

But you can yank my chain anytime!

Currently I drink boxed wine because it’s cheap AF. My preferred poison? Expensive dark beer.

I can’t believe you’re going to work when America is voting right now, what the fuck. LOL. I took today off, and tomorrow.

Florida is crazy, Biden will probably lose but it will be close and that is VERY bad for Trump. We’ll just have to see. This will be a longer fight than I’d hoped.

On cock sucking, I never understood that being an insult. My favorite people are cock suckers. Not even kidding. I just don’t understand this shit sometimes.

      • Toon says:

Aaron I laughed at all your post except the bit about your mum crying, and your dad. Hope she’s feeling a bit more cheered up. I’ve just seen a live update on the Australian ABC news website about Florida – and yes, we take the US election seriously, a fucked up unpredictable US makes things really really difficult for Australia – the update said Florida was counting Election Day votes after the mail in ones, which could be good news for Trump…Is that right? Does that mean he’s more likely to win Florida and possibly won’t be as close as initial counts might appear? Is that a correct take on that bit of intel?
Australian pundits calling it at 203 Biden and 103 Trump so far but I have no idea what that is based on and whether they remotely know what they’re talking about. Hence I’ll be looking at NYT as recommended by Aaron and listening to you lot…

      • aaronthepatriot says:

NO fucking idea about anything that’s going on. Biden was supposed to be up 10% overall not seeing that play out anywhere. I don’t have any hope to offer anyone now.

Toon, we have 4 humans and 4 cats. Can you accomodate?

      • Toon says:

Even Western Australians can’t get back into Western Australia at the moment! We have a hard border in place where no one can enter the State without a special exemption – which perhaps explains why it’s been over 6 months since we’ve had a case of community transition of Covid…. we live in a bubble. A pleasant bubble with good weather and excellent beaches and some lovely people if you exactly know where to look but still a bubble like the guy in Northern Exposure who was allergic to everything. The hard border is coming down to allow Australians from other states come in soon but apparently international travel (In and Out of the State – we can’t go anywhere either!) is off the cards until there’s a vaccine. Plus we have such strict animal quarantine they’d probably make you leave your cats behind or kill them when you arrive with them. Sorry. Other than that you’d of course all be very welcome.
I think I’d probably want to migrate here if I didn’t live here. Apparently Perth is the best place in Australia to be middle class according to a recent study. I’m not exactly sure what that means but pretty sure it means me and my life.

I believe tits are incredibly responsible and therefore showing them is a beautiful thing.

      • stchucky says:

nObTimMinchin: Fuck I love tits though…

  10. Damon Holston says:

Yeah, that wasn’t really what I was trying to say. I had a lot of trouble figuring out what to say and said it more direct than i meant.

  11. Damon says:

What I was trying to say was that it bugs me that someone who is as obviously as disenfranchised as a Black person should care more about what happens to other Black people and at least make an effort to support them, but that isn’t fair because everyone is entitled to be apathetic, not just white people. I didn’t initially bring race into it since it isn’t more or less pertinent why someone should or shouldn’t vote. Voting was incredibly hard-earned by Black people and it’s not like it is ancient history that they couldn’t vote at all, so when presented with a government that is actively trying to keep you down I would think you would want to participate in eradicating it.

It is difficult to talk about because it highlights my white privilege and gets in to the realm of who decides what is right for who. Sort of like the conversation when poor people make it out of the slums/ghetto/etc. Do you owe any one a helping hand? You made it why can’t they?

I think I could go on, but that was the basic idea. It’s not actually worse, just how I felt about it and it’s not fair for me to say what he should do.

p.s. turns out he has a felony and can’t vote

    • aaronthepatriot says:

Damon you are so right and it is so refreshing to see you lay things out like this. I guess that’s all I have to say about your main point, 10 drinks in.

As for the felony thing, what a bullshit system we have to fix right? But right now, if he can’t vote, well…then I guess even more so he gets to have his opinion about voting.

It’s like the election in a foreign country, sadly. What right do I have to say how people should vote? Only…he LIVES here.

      • Damon says:

yeah on all counts. Are you going to be able to stay up based on your intake? I’m cool for the next couple hours and then dinner and bed soon after.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

I’ll be aight. Up until this landslide is called for Sleepy Joe Biden. Which I predict will be by midnight EST.

      • Damon says:

Wow, that is optimistic. I figured we won’t know anything until tomorrow mid-day at best, but I assume you must be 100% in previous election calls and trust your statement. Way to go Joe!

      • aaronthepatriot says:

STAY UP YOU PIECE OF SHIT GODDAMNIT

      • Damon says:

For what? Various news sources breathlessly updating us on specious data? It’s not my fault you called the election, you only have yourself to blame. I told Toom about you…

      • aaronthepatriot says:

57-42 for Biden in Ohio with 45% reporting. You can go to bed, you baby, Biden’s probably got this. But don’t blame me if you wake up and slit your wrists.

      • Toon says:

Voting in Australia compulsory. And always on a Saturday, the state schools are all polling places so generally nearby and accessible – you queue for a bit if you go at peak times but there’s always a sausage sizzle and a school fundraiser cake stall going and the locals having a chat so it’s hardly a burden. I’ve never seen any aggro ever at anywhere I’ve voted, and I’ve helped hand out how to vote cards for various friends over the years standing as candidates for different political parties so I’ve stood at polling places all day chatting with the other people handing out how to vote cards from different political parties, its always been friendly and most people are there to help out a friend or family member, not out of political conviction.
Re felonies – prisoners who are serving more than 3 or 5 years, can’t remember off the top of my head which it is, can’t vote while in prison, but certainly can once when released. And most prisoners do get released at some point in Australia, we don’t do sentencing for decades and decades and decades. I think the only conviction that precludes being able to vote on release is possibly treason. That’s a rare old conviction, though.

      • stchucky says:

I mean why would Australia stop someone from voting? That’s a nice juicy fine they’re missing out on if the felon doesn’t go and vote.

      • Toon says:

No, clearly Aaron is still conscious.

      • stchucky says:

Not getting to vote because of a felony is classic disenfranchisement. Are they going to lift those felonies if and when the crime (like drug use) no longer exists? Pig’s arse they are.

Mrs. Hatboy has volunteered in prisons in Finland, helping inmates vote. Sure, a lot of them want to vote for the white supremacist party, but they still get to vote.

Amusingly, some of them are so insistent on voting specifically for Finnish Hitler, they won’t listen to Mrs. Hatboy when she tells them that Finnish Hitler is not running in their district and if they want the Nazis to get in they should vote for Finnish Himmler. They announce that it’s Hitler or nothing, so their votes wind up being invalid. Never let it be said the Nazis aren’t great at shooting themselves in the fucking head. It’s one of their defining characteristics innit.

Who-boy, monitoring multiple replies is tiring. I may check out, or not, depending in how the night goes. Cheers all. Dinner time.

    • aaronthepatriot says:

imma just say this because hatboy can’t counter me for 8 hours, sleepy a hatboy, if you go to bed before I call this you can’t read his books anymore. Sorry that’s how it is.

  13. Damon says:

Bed for me. Poor sleep last night and got up at 4:30 this morning and I have to work tomorrow.
No, I will not be drinking Toom’s concoction for breckers, I only drink at night.
A – we can catch up in the morning when still no one knows anything.
Hatz – Have fun sorting this mess out. Please distract us with a book (or a story that you hadn’t planned on sharing).

Hatz – Have fun sorting this mess out. Please distract us with a book (or a story that you hadn’t planned on sharing).

Crap, maybe I’d better. But I have nothing. Book’s in editing, let me see if I can carve out a chunk of something to post. This looks like it’s going to go on for several days anyway.

  14. stchucky says:

So, right now it looks like a mess. I’ve been saying for the past week or so that I will be surprised as well as disgusted (unlike 2016 when I was just disgusted) if Trump gets a win this year. But also that Biden needs an immediate and ever-growing landslide to actually win this, and any split of more than 48% – 52% doesn’t seem to happen post-Brexit.

I’m still stunned and utterly disdainful that Trump has gotten as many states as he has. They can all go ahead and sink into the sea OH WAIT, that’s happening anyway.

    Good.

  15. stchucky says:

The betting odds apparently swung to Trump but have since swung back to Biden. We’re seeing the red mirage they promised, and even that is a pretty close thing rather than the solid win the republicans were banking on.

Short of them actually stopping the vote counting, this should swing further and further as the mail-in ballots are tallied. Probably.

    • aaronthepatriot says:

wow did we post at exactly the same time?

    • Toon says:

      Pennsylvania a concern.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

I just can’t fucking believe this. How. How is it this close. How is it close at all? How is it, I shudder to say, possible Trump could win being 10 percent down?

And it looks like all those senate races, somehow the Republicans found a way to hang on.

I think there WAS fraud. Massive. For Republicans. I don’t know how, and with Trump in power I don’t know how we’ll find it. But there must be.

        Right?

      • stchucky says:

This is all I can say for the US right now. I’ve gone back to mid-’90s levels of disdain for the entire country and its citizens.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

        Hah.

I guess this is the Red Mirage after all, what I’m hearing from many states is the votes are going to slowly shift today. If they’re allowed to. I honestly hoped it would be such a blowout there could be no red mirage. But no dice.

It is REALLY suspicious to me that several states’ most Democratic counties are coming in late with results, haven’t even come in at all in some cases. In Atlanta that water main break, so they didn’t count the ballots. They fucking better be now, because tick motherfucking tock.

I think that somehow, in every single Republican run state, they found a way to count Republican areas first. That’s why it’s as bleak as it is. Today, everything will change.

And today, because of Republicans doing that, once again Americans will start killing Americans. Republicans make us kill each other, and still 66 million Americans vote for them.

We won’t get the senate back, it looks like. Which means the country is still fucking done. Bitch McTurtell will still be the leader. GODDAMNIT how is this even possible. Your EdPool tweets are right on. What the actual fuck.

      • Toon says:

The only explanation I can see is that his analytics are just so precise and targeted. That’s how he somehow manages to apparently appeal to such a diversity of voters, from rappers to farmers -people for whom you would sensibly think his policies would personally damage.
And the polling prediction methods just don’t work anymore.
That’s just my view from afar.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

I am starting to “hear” that about how he managed to micro target. But with this much turnout, it shouldn’t be enough.

So far he’s gotten like 3 million MORE votes than 2016, and the counting is far from over.

People lived through this and said YEAH give me more. More people did.

  16. aaronthepatriot says:

The last two days, the stock market has been up, on “a Biden victory”. I will love it, as a final proof nothing means anything, to see it up on a Trump victory as well.

Because honestly, that’s the story for rich people in America, right? “All I do is win”?

      • Damon says:

It’s just so stupid! The lack of uninformed voting that persists is almost unbelievable. Cuban Americans in Miami equating so called Biden/Democrat socialism with Castro and voting for a new style dictator. Jews/Zionists who support the Republicans because of their support for Israel despite the party sharing Fascist ideals similar to Nazis. Poor people who vote because Trump is going to improve the economy who don’t realize that it is on their backs that it will happen. Rural racism.

We don’t deserve better. We do this to our selves over and over and act like, “well bad luck I guess”. People are more concerned with holding power and owning the (fill in the blank) than caring about their neighbors. It’s fucking selfish!

As Hatboy has written frequently in his books, humans are humans. And they are fucking idiots who will fuck it up for everyone even if they go down with the ship too.

Unsurprisingly, we breezed past 100 comments on this post in Hatstand record time. Condolulations all.

Ok it’s not but that would be fun.

    • Toon says:

Is this a record number of posts? I asked you once before how many was the most you’d ever got but I’ve forgotten your answer, sorry.

      • Damon says:

we are going to soar past 200. You are seeing the mirage effect and there are still posts to be counted as precincts open and close.

      • stchucky says:

I don’t think it’s a record yet, but I don’t think we’ve hit 200 comments before so we’ll have to call it at that point.

On the other hand, a lot of our movie- and ideology / politics-debates go to triple figures with whole essays in each comment, so comment-count and word-count are very different things.

      • Toon says:

        I reckon Biden’s got it.

Here it is. You are clearly an antifa troublemaker.

Seriously though, really appreciate the pic! Hang in there, hopefully things are going to get better.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

Nice. Is that your face when you find out I was asking YOU to show tits?

Hatboy you have permission to post my pic too. Let’s go with the Halloween ones. You can share my kitties too, we need some pick me ups.

Oh also on the meatloaf: we didn’t eat the bacon, either. It was just for the zombie look.

      • stchucky says:

I’m off the computer again now so pics will have to wait until tomorrow!

      • aaronthepatriot says:

      • Damon says:

I would be happy to share my body with you. My face was covered so I don’t pass on my germs through the computer.

The boards on the building are quite frankly ridiculous. I’m not sure what people expected to happen yesterday, but entire cities burning won’t happen for a few weeks at least. We really jumped the gun on this one. While the June Uprising was centered very close to my office I would imagine that anti-government/Trump protests would be aimed at government buildings, not industrial parks. On the other hand, we are fortified against the militia groups.

  22. Damon says:

Wisconsin is still counting, and as we all know it will come down to the cities versus suburbs. Some of us been screaming for weeks, but only results can show what polls can’t: racism, not just race, drives voters on both sides. • aaronthepatriot says:

Ahh ok, yeah I am seeing that about Wisconsin as well. I think this is over, but now the true madness will begin. I’m still shocked at the lack of horrors going on. I figured that Atlanta place where they are counting the final ballots was going to be surrounded this morning.

      • stchucky says:

Maybe the media has overblown the Trumpists and underplayed how dickless they are? We can only hope.

      • Damon says:

My understanding of the militia movement is that there is around 100,000 people in the country spread throughout with concentrated areas in a number of different states. They are loosely organized, I use that term very loosely, and have severe difficulty coordinating logistics and ideologies. A lot of what they do takes place on turf they know, under the cover of darkness or when they know they will have the complicity of the police to operate. The election, while highly visible, seems too visible to show up and cause problems at. The police are not going to let them fuck with people at polling places because they know how that would look.

I am surprised that there wasn’t much lone-wolf type violence though.

  23. Damon says:

Sounds like Wisconsin has been called for Joe

  24. Damon says:

Trump campaign starting to do bullshit lawsuits to stop counting in Michigan and Pennsylvania. They must sense the end.

    • aaronthepatriot says:

He should worry about Georgia, but if it finishes today it’s probably too late for his ass. We can win without Pennsylvania and Biden is ahead in Michigan so bring THAT shit on, but there are MILLIONS of PA ballots left to count. If they stop the counting, every mail in person in PA should storm the supreme court and the white house. What nonsense.

  25. aaronthepatriot says:

They’re going to ask for a recount in Wisconsin. But gee, I thought recounts were evil and wrong! Let’s get the SCOTUS to stop that recount like they did in 2000, eh?

But this is mind blowing, actually.

  28. aaronthepatriot says:

Unreal. I’m following the updates on the 538 blog, I think I already mentioned this morning, and there is clear bullshit going on. Check out this blog update that just came in: “AARON BYCOFFE
    NOV. 4, 3:55 PM
And just as I wrote that, two more batches of Pennsylvania vote were reported: 23,277 votes in Philadelphia, all for Biden, and about 5,300 votes in Luzerne County, nearly 4,000 of which were for Biden. Trump’s lead in the state is now just below 6 points, with 83 percent of the expected vote in.”

ALL FOR BIDEN. Somehow, over 23,000 votes are coming in on a delay, and they’re ALL for Biden. Not 80%, not 90%…ALL. And then the other batch is more like 80% which is also crazy.

    https://fivethirtyeight.com/live-blog/2020-election-results-coverage/

    • damon says:

Am I missing something here? Are you saying it can’t be true that all the votes are for him or something else?

      • aaronthepatriot says:

I’m saying I can’t imagine how an entire large batch of votes are for one person. I think they were held back.

      • Damon says:

Held back by whom for what purpose? Who benefits?

      • aaronthepatriot says:

Who knows why but my best guess would be by Republicans to enable the Red Mirage scenario.

Look, it’s 23,000 votes. Why were they ALL for one candidate? Doesn’t that seem statistically improbable to you? Jesus. I don’t think I’m being conspiratorial on this when we KNOW how much cheating they planned.

      • stchucky says:

Doesn’t it also look bad, like OH LOOK, the democrats “found” all these Biden votes, HOW CONVENIENT.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

EXACTLY. I had hoped to avoid that, as much as humanly possible. Knowing of course it would happen anyway no matter how little the states “flipped”.

      • stchucky says:

I’m seeing Pennsylvania turning blue, that’s a good sign.

      • Oh no doubt there are a million ballots in PA that are Democratic, primarily, that will flip the state. Flip it by counting the votes…fuck even I can’t avoid the trigger word. They are going to try to stop the counting. People will have to rise up.

      • stchucky says:

Counting the votes? Oh my sweet summer child, don’t you mean finding the votes?

Sorry … too soon to be funny I’m guessing. Too soon by a good 10-15 years.

      • Way too soon. Please keep the dial pegged on “outrage” for now. Probably for the next 2 months, I hate to say it.

I’m not offended, but the humor has no effect on me right now.

      • stchucky says:

Well, I dealt with having rectal cancer by making jokes so don’t expect too much of me. Suffice to say, I’m disgusted by how fucking willfully ignorant people are being about this whole voting thing. How did people get so fucking stupid so fucking fast?

      • I hear you, but if I may, your rectal cancer didn’t kill anyone. Yet. Sorry, that sounds rude but I think you get me. Also, your body, your choice or something. Joke away! But surely there were dark times when humor eluded you?

I feel like this is a bad path for our discussion to take. Stay healthy, man!

Trump has killed what, 100,000 with bad COVID response, more? And now what he is doing to fake a Trump win overturned by fraud will SURELY cause more deaths.

Not ready to be wry and sarcastic about that.

      • stchucky says:

I’m going to disagree with you, since I think humour is a great coping mechanism. I won’t engage with you personally in a joking way out of sensitivity to your opinion on the matter, but this is my blog so there will be jokes.

      • Well, yes humor is a great coping mechanism. But it’s longer before the rape victim can laugh at the rape joke, than the person who just read about a rape can.

If ya ken my analogy. It’s a little too strong for the sitch but fuck it, I’m going with it.

      • stchucky says:

It is. Best leave it there.

      • stchucky says:

Speaking of jokes (but not making any in this context anymore), are people really suggesting Trump is going to make a name / career for himself in politics after (fucking please) losing the election?

Why would anyone take him remotely seriously? He’s got no qualifications or experience. I would have thought just being the president for four years would teach him something (it’s taught me a bunch about US politics just watching him be president for four years), but of course not. His brain is too fucking calcified. Are people really honestly suggesting this? Like, even if he was interested, which he isn’t.

      • I’d have to know what you mean by a name/career in politics. For now I’ll assume we’re seeing the same things, that he’s going to try to remain a force in electoral politics. Political “commentary” via tweet or his ridiculous Trump TV, etc. Influencing Republicans for years to come.

I think he WILL try to do that. I am not sure whether it will work. He has a problem that Republican politicians appear to be fucking done with him, once he loses they may try a full pivot to pretend they were all hostages.

But the voters…I don’t know. He is projected to have like 70 million votes or more, mind blowing. That’s over 7 million more than 2016. Can you believe it? Maybe more, I’m forgetting all the numbers and I just want to finish this post.

If the “base” still loves Trump, he can succeed at this. And that’s just not something I can guess at.

Best projection for this election is a total squeaker, Biden 270 Trump 268. His base will easily believe that was Deep State Fraud. That Trump won. So what then?

      • stchucky says:

Yeah, that’s sort of what I’d heard, like political pundit level influencer. I just couldn’t see it.

But, as usual, it looks like I’m seeing the whole US situation through rose tinted glasses and am not grasping the degree of vile degeneration he has enabled and encouraged. Trumpism, as the new fascism, certainly isn’t going away. Populist politics is made for the social media age. And it’s fucking gross.

      • Yup. And not to circle back but just to further explain my position, this is why I’m not in the mood for jokes.

This video starts out with an explanation of the nightmare scenario we are now in. And it doesn’t even factor in Trump TV:

Cliff’s notes: Without winning the senate, Biden and Dems will do NOTHING for 4 years. The economy will collapse, and we’ll get no help. Biden will be too incapable of rhetoric shaming Republicans into action, and too weak to use executive orders LIKE TRUMP DID to fix anything.

In 2024, Tom Cotton, an actual fascist and a smart one, will run for President. And probably win.

Then it’s Goodnight, Irene. Sorry, Damon, but there it is. America has 4 years left. Maximum.

I added the name, they didn’t name him here but they have before.

      • stchucky says:

It just occurred to me watching this video, what if Biden stands down, like, immediately after inauguration? Harris strikes me as someone with the (*cough-cough-authoritarian-cough-cough*) strength to take on a republican senate and get something passed. Whether we’d like it or not is another question.

Wasn’t this sort of what Biden was planning anyway? One term, max? Give Harris a decent VP after her inauguration, something positive might come of this.

        Or am I dreaming?

      • Dreaming. Like Biden has been dreaming of being president for over 40 years.

They can’t pick a VP for Harris, either. It follows the line of succession. Next is Speaker of the House, which is Pelosi right now so ugh.

Then it’s the president Pro Temp of the senate, which is Chuck Grassley. An old, piece of shit Republican. It depends on senate majority so that would remain an issue.

We don’t wanna go down THAT road. But bottom line, no way does Biden do this. Also I disagree Harris would do anything either.

But that gets into “Dems are paid to lose” territory. I think it’s literally true because of donors. But I mean it in a larger sense and that’s unprovable without admissions from the people involved, which we’ll never get. So table that one.

      • stchucky says:

Meanwhile, the UK’s favourite news source is trying to stick its spotted dick in somewhere.

      • Damon says:

At this point everyone sees the bogeyman wherever they look because they are looking for the bogeyman everywhere.

Having no previous experience paying attention to mail-in ballots and the mechanisms involved in counting them I can’t begin to say if it is normal or not for blocks of votes to be released the way they are. While it is odd that large blocks are being “released” for Biden there may be a completely innocuous reason for it.

      • Jesus Christ, BBC. Don’t be evil. As the saying goes.

      • stchucky says:

Shit, and I have to go now, and I forgot the Halloween pics. Something to look forward to tomorrow!

LOL I hear you, though. Fair enough.

When the home office closes, the home office closes. Unless I get a write night. Which, you know, I’m not.

I really need to do something on my commute. Have a snack, pay some bills on my phone, listen to music…

        …hmm.

      • Oh but the bar is so far out of the way! Like, meters away!

      • stchucky says:

That’s true. But that just means I get my steps in.

      • stchucky says:

I admit to also being puzzled by this “holding back ballots” thing, but that’s mostly because I don’t know the mechanism for absentee / postal ballots vs. on-the-day ballots. I get that the majority of mail-ballots go blue so that’s why the republicans are holding them all back, but these ones that are purely votes for Biden, that suggests they’re identifiable and set aside?

Are they opened, tallied, and then just hidden and not added to the count until later? How are they holding back only Biden votes? Just the actual physical paper side of it, I don’t get.

      • THAT’S THE THING. I’m not aware of any mechanism where ballots would be held aside in a group all for one candidate, like that. Any legal mechanism.

      • stchucky says:

Right, so they must be opened and then put somewhere for “counting later”. Ideally when all the Trump votes are counted and he’s declared victory and gotten the supreme court to make democracy STAHP.

  29. aaronthepatriot says:

Here’s a good update from Nate Silver. It’s focused almost entirely on the Presidential race, but probably so are the international readers. This should catch everyone up. Just know, without the Senate, Biden will get NOTHING done. You’ve seen this movie before.

“Nate here. Stepping back into the saddle here for the rest of the day after a brief rest. I’m going to give you a rundown of how I’m currently seeing the states where we still don’t have projections, even though it might be a little redundant with what we’ve written earlier.

But here’s where the presidential race stands from most likely Trump win to least likely Trump win:

North Carolina. Trump leads by 1.4 points or about 77,000 votes, but mail ballots can arrive after Election Day in North Carolina, so perhaps 5 percent of the vote is still outstanding. The mail vote should be pretty blue in North Carolina, but is it enough to flip the state? Probably not, according to The Upshot’s needle, which gave Biden about a 15 percent chance in North Carolina before it was frozen. I’d call this one Likely Trump, although 15 percent chances aren’t zero, obviously!

Georgia. Trump leads by 78,000 votes without around 200,000 votes outstanding (there’s some uncertainty over the exact number). That seems like a tall order for Biden, but the remaining vote is expected to be very blue: mail votes from blue counties plus some Election Day votes from predominantly Black precincts in blue counties. The Upshot’s needle actually had Biden slightly favored to pull it off as of last night. We’ll know more soon. Let’s say Tossup but you could force me into Lean Biden if you told me I had to make a pick.

Pennsylvania. As expected, far more uncounted votes here than elsewhere, mostly mail votes that should be quite Democratic-leaning, though. There are too many outstanding ballots for us to be in the endgame where we can game out exact scenarios, but in counties that have completed reporting, Biden looks to be hitting the targets he needs. Even with the Trump campaign filing a number of lawsuits, the margin is tightening quickly enough that I think this belongs in Lean Biden.

Arizona. We may need to do a longer post on Arizona later. What’s left to count is mostly mail votes that were returned late in the process — on Monday or Tuesday. There’s some ambiguity about how many ballots this actually is; Edison Research seems to think around 450,000. If so, Trump would need to win those votes by 21 points to overtake Biden’s current 93,000-vote lead. They’re disrupted fairly evenly throughout the state.

Wait — outstanding mail votes? Shouldn’t those be good for Biden, as in other states? Well, not necessarily, because Republicans have a fairly strong mail voting program in Arizona and — this is the key part — the mail ballots that were returned later in the process (the ones yet to be continued) were significantly redder than the ones that came in earlier on, as Democrats sent their votes in early. For instance, the party registration of the votes that came in Monday and Tuesday were: 23 percent Democratic, 44 percent Republican, and 33 percent independent or other parties. That is to say, a 21-point GOP edge, which would put Trump on track to tie things up.

But … here’s the bad news for Trump. Party registration may be a misleading indicator in Arizona. It has a lot of ancestral Republicans who have now turned into swing voters. Biden also had a big lead among independents in polls. And earlier batches of mail ballots were considerably stronger for Biden than party registration alone would suggest. So probably these ballots are going to come in more for Trump than for Biden, but not as strongly as he needs.

There’s also the fact that two other news organizations, the Associated Press and Fox News, have called the state for Biden. I’d assume they’ve put more work into looking into this than I have, so that shifts my priors a bit, but you never know and you will get incorrect calls occasionally. Overall, I’d say this is Likely Biden but I don’t think the state should have been called yet.

Nevada. This one’s a bit more straightforward. Biden leads by only 0.6 percent or about 7,500 votes. But what’s remaining should be pretty good for him. It’s all mail-in ballots that were either received late in the process or which are still coming in — in Nevada, mail ballots can be received by Nov. 10 provided they’re postmarked by Election Day. The mail ballots were quite blue in Nevada by party registration, much more so than in Arizona, including votes that arrived relatively late in the process. Likely Biden.

Michigan. Biden is ahead, leading by around 61,000 votes or 1.2 percentage points. His lead has been growing and given what votes are outstanding, is likely to grow further. Likely Biden.

Wisconsin. No known votes left to be counted. The Trump campaign says it will seek a recount, but recounts rarely change results, and certainly not with something on the magnitude of Biden’s 20,000-vote lead. Biden is the “apparent winner,” per ABC News.”

    • Toon says:

Thanks for putting that up Aaron, that’s an excellent summary to inform me of where things stand as I start the day.
Good Morning Hatstanders! It’s going to be a sunny 30 degrees Celsius day in Perth but I shall be inside looking at a screen at America for most of the day, along with the rest of the world…

      • stchucky says:

Same, except it looks like 4°C / 8°C today here.

      • Toon says:

With a thunderstorm, hail, sudden humid scorching heat wave for a few minutes, followed by a tsunami with weird apocalyptic cloud formations to finish…am I finally getting it right for a typical Finnish daily weather forecast? I might be a slow learner, but still a learner…

      • stchucky says:

Hah! No, see, that would be predictable. What we will probably get instead is just a kind of grey chilly mess that feels like it’s raining but actually isn’t. And maybe a bit of actual rain.

      • Toon says:

Oh. Clearly I’ve still got some learnin’ to do. Be patient with me.

      • Damon says:

We have unseasonably warm weather this week, 70’s all week (21 C). Should be more like 30’s and 40’s, a little colder than Hatboy. Blue skies (metaphor?), full moon (another one?), it’s about as nice as we could ask for. Perfect weather for protesting!

      • stchucky says:

This is about normal for November here, although ideally it would be colder and snowing already. But November is known as the grey month, and in fact November 14th is semi-officially known as The Greyest Day (Vuoden harmain päivä), and we are all supposed to drink grapefruit long drink (a grey Finnish alcoholic grapefruit lemonade) to celebrate. I will definitely do so.

        https://www.originallongdrink.com/vhp/

      • Toon says:

That sounds very pleasant… I do love hearing about the weather, Hatboy will probably say it’s a weird Perth thing because apparently both his parents and I always ask him what the weather’s like, but I’m trying to learn not to ask someone in Finland that because apparently their weather is embarrassing or something. But I do want to know! Did you say a couple of weeks ago that it had been snowing where you are? 21 degrees celcius sounds positively summery then!

      • stchucky says:

Talking about the weather is the ultimate small talk, and Finns are atrocious at small talk. That might be it!

  30. Damon says:

Here is a graph of votes in PA and AZ. What do they look like to you?

Here’s the changing situation in Arizona & Pennsylvania – things are narrowing in opposite directions. It could really go to the wire pic.twitter.com/OdWpR2OvvR— Sophy Ridge (@SophyRidgeSky) November 5, 2020

click the date to go to the Tweet, I don’t know how to link this better.

    • stchucky says:

      Nice!

For the record, if you click the little outbox-looking tray icon with the arrow on the lower right of a tweet, you can select “direct link to tweet” and then pasting that link will put the tweet here properly (although it is still dependent on the reader’s browser and firewall settings if anything shows up):

  31. Damon says:

The big take away from the election is how racism was one of the biggest factors in how people voted. Pollsters may have had more accurate results if they had simply asked, do you support the Black Lives Matter movement?

    • aaronthepatriot says:

Damon, not that I automatically disagree about racism being a big factor but what are you basing that on?

It’s a scary thought that 70 million voting Americans are motivated by their racism. Or, any number close to that!

      • Damon Holston says:

Because almost 70 million people said four years of racist rhetoric wasn’t enough, give us four more. Because more people voted for him than.last election. Because people weren’t turned off, but rather turned on. More white women voted for a racist rapist than last election! Because “law and order” is racist code for keeping people of color out of our suburbs and rural areas. Because protecting property is more important than protecting Black lives. Because immigration policies further isolate us from Brown people even though all of our ancestors were immigrants themselves.
        That’s why I say that.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

I hear you, Damon, and often I think similar things. But honestly, and this may be even sadder, I don’t think most Republican voters pay a single damn bit of attention to what the politicians are actually saying or doing. They can’t be, I see so much evidence. I hear them talk about what Trump has done, or their senator, or whatever, and its clearly just the surface BS their media has fed to them.

They’re not watching his rallies, they’re not reading his tweets. Sometimes they know enough to know, and kind of admit, that if they DID they wouldn’t like it.

But they have to vote Republican, they think, or else the country will turn into Soddom or Gomorrah.

There’s so much out there about this now, and believe me I don’t care why they vote Republican, it’s awful to do it. But it really isn’t as simple as you think.

      • Damon Holston says:

There is undoubtedly lots more to it but I don’t have the energy to get into it now. We can resume in the AM.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

Yeah I just don’t know. So much is speculation anyway. But it has dawned on me this year, they’re really just not paying attention. Having to work 2+ jobs to get by might have something to do with it.

Our mainstream media is just AWFUL, too. You can’t get informed anywhere in it. But most people have to rely on it because it’s easier to access.

Not sure how much I can dig in.

      • stchucky says:

They’ve got a woman speaking in tongues to save this president? Looks like your country’s days of not being taken seriously are coming to a middle.

      • stchucky says:

This reminds me a little of the marriage equality debate we had (I mean on this blog; you and I were on the same side on that one). At a certain point their motives don’t matter anymore. They’re voting for something proven and demonstrably evil and harmful. Fuck them all.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

Yes I can come down on that conclusion, which is probably why I don’t have much energy to defend them on their ignorance.

I just believe it MUST be so. 60% (randomly picked out of a hat) of Republicans don’t listen to Trump speak AT ALL.

      • stchucky says:

Also not to imply that we’re not on the same side of this one, of course. I think we’re all on the same side when it comes to this dumb election.

  32. Damon says:

Very unrelated, do you speak Finnish with an Australian accent? And what does that sound like? No idea why that came to me, but the people want to know.

    • aaronthepatriot says:

If we’re making random comments at least I’ll make one that’s on topic.

Fuck does it seem like they’re taking their goddamn sweet time counting these ballots. Arizona in particular is going at a fucking snail’s pace. Chop chop, motherfuckers, we’re all dying out here and it’s only a matter of time before MAGA chuds hit those windows a little “too hard” and the rioting and looting begins.

Which is “funny”, you know, because I thought rioting and looting were bad.

I guess it’s kinda like how counting votes in PA is bad. But count the vote in AZ!

    • Toon says:

I’m going to take a guess while Hatboy is sleeping and can’t give you a correct, first hand and knowledgeable answer… that he speaks Finnish with whatever inflection Mrs Hatboy has, because that’s who he would have learned Finnish off. Which I am going to make a further guess and say maybe with a slight Swedish accent given where he lives? Unless of course he manages to work in a laconic nasal Australian drawl like “aaaya” or “una” whenever he speaks Finnish which would probably be either hilarious or irritating or totally bewildering to the Finns…I couldn’t possibly guess which …

      • Toon says:

Spelling Correction. Sorry should have spelt that “unna”. I wouldn’t want to invite rude memes or comments about my spelling, especially when it comes to indigenous Australian language usage…

      • aaronthepatriot says:

Well I found his Australian accent to be fairly light (to my ears) when we last talked, and that was many years ago, it’s probably even more faded by now. Then again that’s in comparison to my most prominent examples: Crocodile Dundee, Butcher from The Boys, and anyone narrating an Outback Steakhouse or Foster’s beer commercial XD

Let’s make him perform Finnish for us like our trained monkey!

      • stchucky says:

BUTCHER ISN’T FUCKIN AUSTRALIAN HE’S BRITISH

      • aaronthepatriot says:

        OI!!!!!!!!! SHU’ I’!!!!!! OI!!!!!!!!

Come on, man, he has to be Australian. No Brit would say “cunt” that often! I thought frequent use of “cunt” was a defining trait of Aussies!

I can’t find proof of it but I’m also seeming to remember he’s said “walkabout” and “shrimp on the barbie” at least once each. I could swear….

But at any rate, he’s got an Aussie ACCENT, I told you you’d have to come to terms with this, and now here it is. You are bias.

We can let Toon decide. I trust her not to be bias.

        Hee hee!

      • stchucky says:

“THE BOYS: KARL URBAN’S COCKNEY ACCENT IS SO BAD PEOPLE THINK HE’S TRYING TO BE AUSTRALIAN!”

        https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2019/08/19/the-boys-amazon-prime-video-karl-urban-cockney-accent/

Karl Urban is a New Zealander so his accent can’t be that bad. He’s attempting cockney. It’s absolutely not Australian.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

HA HA HA HA so it’s not just me!!!!!!!

Thanks for finding that gem of an article, I’m legit tearing up with grins.

      • stchucky says:

Hee, I know right? As I think I mentioned in an e-mail at some point, he and Denethor are definitely trying for some kind of Londoner accent but the use of “cunt” is clearly the work of a USian writer gasping into his scented sachet at the naughtiness of it. It’s too clunky to be British and nowhere near Australian.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

Just to be clear, when we’re talking cockney accent we’re talking about the “wotcher, Harry” of Ron Weasley and the “guvnah” that I do, which I guarantee you is spot on and I can prove it sometime if you need, and…Austin Powers right? Whether Mike Myers nailed it or not, that was attempted cockney?

And is that, like, lower class London? Or some other area?

      • stchucky says:

Yeah, chimney sweep from Mary Poppins. East London. I don’t know about Ron but the actor is from east London so that would check out. Austin Powers was a British accent done by an arguably talented North American actor, so it was nothing really. South London at best, certainly not attempted cockney. Since he was trying to be a gentleman spy of the 1960s, he was aiming for Bond. His Scottish was better.

      • Toon says:

Western Australians do historically tend to have a much less nasal Australian accent than Eastern Staters, which is probably who you would have been hearing in movies etc… if you listen to how someone says the word “engage” it’s pretty telling of their Australian accent…

      • stchucky says:

Yeah, and Mrs. Hatboy hasn’t taken any accent from me to cover the USian she learned from TV. The kids have Australian accents, but I’m disappointed. All the Finnish spouses of Scots and Irish people I know have gotten super powerful accents.

      • stchucky says:

That’s not a bad guess! I have probably picked up some accent issues from Mrs. Hatboy, although Finnish Swedish isn’t really an accent unless you’re speaking Swedish. In Finnish, she has a rural-ish Vantaa kind of accent that sounds odd to some city folks (and by “city”, I mean “larger towns in Vantaa”, Helsinki is a whole other thing). But I can’t really pick up on accents unless they’re practically a dialect.

    • stchucky says:

I can confirm that I do, but as to what it sounds like, all I can say is “like Finnish with an Australian accent.”

I get a lot of “where do you originally come from?” and “your Finnish is good but I couldn’t place the accent.”

  33. stchucky says:

So where are we at? Looks like Biden is on the brink, and so is Trump in a different sense. A couple of states getting recounts / new elections in January? That might affect the senate balance but McConnell has already sworn not to let Biden put any of his own choices in there? So, McConnell needs to be executed for treason but I’ll settle for painful, slow (but not too slow please) natural causes.

Something else concerns me, but I’m ignorant of the electoral college system. Wasn’t it talked about last election, that despite the obligation the electoral college has to vote according to the wins in their states, there was a chance they might vote with their conscience instead and tip the balance? Or am I mixing it up with another dumbfuck voting process y’all have?

If that is the case, even if Biden dominates with 280-290 electoral college votes, is there a chance of the electoral college “voting with their conscience” and still fucking you over?

    • stchucky says:

I’m sure I’m getting this mixed up but I was certain I’d heard of some bullshit like this. Set me straight.

      • Toon says:

Are you talking about the plenary authority? State legislatures allocating electoral college votes? There’s an article by a US law professor I’ve emailed you about Trump’s legal challenge in Pennsylvania which is based on that concept that might answer your question… I don’t know the answer to your question myself of course (duh) but this US law professor specialising in constitutional and election law just might…

      • stchucky says:

I don’t think I’m familiar with the plenary authority, I just have this nagging recollection of there being some case where some politicians were obligated to cast votes according to what their constituents had voted for, but some of them might go against that and vote their conscience (or their cowardly-arse christian lobbyist pandering sense of self betterment) instead? Maybe I’m mixing it up entirely with the marriage equality plebiscite and / or the same decision as it happened in the US.

      • stchucky says:

This is what I was talking about, the hope that some rogue electors that would harmonise the electoral college with the popular vote. But it never happened, and it wouldn’t help Trump if it did now.

      • Toon says:

        The USians will know…

    • aaronthepatriot says:

So, to clarify, you’re saying McConnell is already saying Biden won’t get any Judicial picks, right? Because it sounded like you were saying he could stop any Democratic senators from getting in to the senate, in a runoff situation or whatever. Which he can’t.

But yeah, I already assumed that. If we can’t get the senate, McConnell will block EVERYTHING. And blame Biden. And Biden will be too weak to fight it. And Tom Cotton will be our first true Fascist overlord in 2024.

Unless! Unless we can find, train, and make widely known the next Bernie Sanders. And ensure they have NO skeleton in ANY closet. They’ll have to agree to opposition research right up front.

This will have to be TYT’s mission, I think. And I’ll donate to that shit.

AOC? I think…she’ll be too young still, right? And by 2028 it will be too late. America will be over. We can’t wait for AOC 2028.

The other thing you’re talking about with the Electoral College is called “faithless electors”. The state legislators still get to pick who goes to Congress to “vote” for the president in the electoral college.

So Evil Plan Q (honestly how many do they have at this point, for just this election) is that if there’s a state where RepubliCUNTS control the legislature, but Biden won, they will pick electors who will vote for Trump anyway and ignore the popular vote.

There are only a few, maybe only one (PA), that has this situation. And if Biden wins without PA then it wouldn’t matter if they did this.

But that’s how it “works”. You say “Yeah Biden won PA by 1% but he cheated. Trump had all the levers of power but Biden was able to defraud the election because reasons. Therefore we’re voting for Trump anyway, representing PA.”

This is why the nightmare is not over, will not be over until inauguration. AT LEAST. There’s still long-range rifles at that point, and a public event.

      • stchucky says:

So, to clarify, you’re saying McConnell is already saying Biden won’t get any Judicial picks, right? Because it sounded like you were saying he could stop any Democratic senators from getting in to the senate, in a runoff situation or whatever. Which he can’t.

Right, the former. The assorted pundits were talking about it this morning. It seems like a standing risk with McConnell “gravedigger of USian democracy” in the senate majority lead place. He needs to be removed.

Unless! Unless we can find, train, and make widely known the next Bernie Sanders. And ensure they have NO skeleton in ANY closet. They’ll have to agree to opposition research right up front.

This will have to be TYT’s mission, I think. And I’ll donate to that shit.

        Sounds like an approach.

The other thing you’re talking about with the Electoral College is called “faithless electors”. The state legislators still get to pick who goes to Congress to “vote” for the president in the electoral college.

        Aye, that could be it.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

So, it looks like PA will be a factor, and one for Biden. They CANNOT be stupid enough to give up everywhere else and count only on that or we’re SCREWED. By the above Evil Plan Q.

They need to stay on AZ, NV, and GA, AND PA, so that there’s a firewall against that shit. GA also has a Republican legislature, and maybe AZ too, so…yeah.

Also I’m hearing that AK (Alaska), juuuuuuuuuust might also be in play so keep an eye on that. It’s almost always red as Trump’s tweet-face. But there were a TON of mail in ballots this time, and there’s not a lot of population, therefore margin, in any election. We might get the senator from there, AND Biden. And I think Trump is totally ignoring it. And of course his lackeys suck AND hate him, so they’re not gonna clue him in I bet.

Also Georgia will go to a runoff, we didn’t lose that senate race yet!

  34. aaronthepatriot says:

To start a separate thread, first all those MAGA protests, then the voting, then all these people cooped up counting the votes and watching the counting, and all the protests. And the more recounting, and more runoff elections…COVID is going to DESTROY us now. And I’m talking RELATIVE to the mind-blowing 118,000 reported (don’t get me started on REPORTED) cases yesterday after the 108,000 the day before, both new records.

    AMERICA. FUCK YEAH!

In fact, I think it’s time:

  35. Damon says:

PA has tipped to Biden now.

  36. THE ELECTION FOR PRESIDENT IS OVER!!!

I know Cenk is earlier than most but his predictions are VERY good.

  37. Damon says:

I think most places are going to wait until they are absolutely sure, but it is a matter of time.

    • Just donated again to Warnock and Ossoff in GA, we have to win those, and to Gross in AK, and to Rebellion PAC, $50 to each

To quote that lunatic Trumpy woman pastor, Strike and Strike and Strike and Strike and Strike and Strike and Strike and Strike and Strike and Strike and Strike and Strike and Strike and Strike and JESUS CHRIST SAVE US.

*Makes up fake shit to pretend I’m talking in tongues*

TYT needs to launch a search for the next progressive presidential candidate, I’ll donate to that too.

    • AOC will be 35 in October of 2024, I think that works!

      • Damon says:

Somebody one-upped your Cotton 2024 tip and suggested that The Orange One could run again then. That would be quite the battle.

      • He’ll be dead or in prison, and he’d never stick his neck out again anyway.

OK in prison or utterly bankrupted and embarrassed. Or dead. Did I mention dead?

Just in case, I wanted to make sure I mentioned the dead option.

      • The AP just legitimized a recount in PA with 5% left to count, all Democrat areas. They just legitimized a recount that might not even turn out to be legal. WHY!!!!

      • stchucky says:

      • Yes, he said that in the current livestream BEFORE he talked about the AP legitimizing a PA recount. This was good news, the bullshit recount talk before the vote is in, is not.

      • stchucky says:

I did see Trump 2024 mentioned somewhere yeah. Also Trump Jr. 2024. Hopefully they’ll both be in jail.

  38. BREAKING TWITTER NEWS: Steve Bannon just received a permanent ban from Twitter for calling for beheading Fauci and the FBI Director (Wrae, sp?).

Now, he should be in prison for that. We’ll see.

  39. Marking 2 hours now that the mainstream media should have called this election. My current money is on 4 pm EST, JUST as the stock market closes for the week.

    You know why.

    • Damon says:

      Dolla dolla bill y’all

      • stchucky says:

        Make Line Go Up.

      • 4 hours since TYT called it. Time adjusted slightly, I was using the wrong start time.

Also, 2.5 hours to the close of the stock market, when media will begin to announce it.

If anyone is wondering why I give a shit, I’ve been holding my retirement (and my mom’s stocks and a large trust) in bonds waiting for this crash. And they’re doing EVERYTHING they can to prevent it so I can’t capitalize for once in my life on a prediction I made well.

      • stchucky says:

I would think the stock market will boom when Biden is announced?

      • If Trump doesn’t cause country-wide riots, which I think he will. The market already boomed on belief that Biden will win, and that he won’t get the Senate.

It can only crash now. And it will. But this crap may contain the crash.

      • Damon says:

Can they riot in their own neighborhoods please? How will the cops police that? Will militias shoot people who threaten property in rural and suburban areas?

        Assuming you mean Trump supporters.

      • Yes, I mean Trump rioters when his loss is announced across media. And it will BE the militias rioting. So…. No idea.

      • stchucky says:

I still maintain they’ll be too dickless. And I sincerely hope I’m right about that.

      • Hope you’re right, but in hindsight I think it was less likely on election day, and very likely once Trump is declared the loser. I base that on how they started to come out and riot during the counting.

5 hours since Cenk’s announcement, no one is calling it. In MSM.

      • stchucky says:

Guys I think I know why they haven’t called it yet.

      • hee hee *pays*

CNN already received leaked memos that Fox, even if they call it, will NOT call him “President Elect Biden.” Because they’re fake news, obviously.

      • stchucky says:

Jesus fucking Christ they need to be dragged out into the street and fucking shot like dogs.

(was meant to be a picture there):

      • And for all the wrong reasons, some Trump protestors want to do just that! LOL

      • stchucky says:

        GodzillaLetThemFight.jpg

      • aaronthepatriot says:

Was that another failed picture insertion? You drunk bruh?

        Should have used a jjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjif!!!!

      • stchucky says:

Nah, that was the “name of meme with dot jpeg after it to call mental picture to mind” convention.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

        Ahh, ok.
30 minutes to observation of complete mainstream media cowardice. It probably won’t be instant but tonight, for sure.

      • stchucky says:

God damn it and I forgot the Halloween pics again. FUCK IT WE’LL DO IT LIVE.

Here’s Darth Patriot, with his flamboyant-arse dual lightsaber.

Here’s Freya the cat, out-rainbowing Aaron.

In honour of the presidential election, here is Peanut the cat, fed up with all the MALARKEY.

And Shadow, who is dressed as a member of the British royal family…

And this cat, confusingly, is named Sushi but is a hot dog.

And then there’s this freaking incredible delicious looking cake.

And this freaking zombie meatloaf that I won’t even fault for the bacon because it’s perfect, and there is nothing wrong with bacon.

There. My phone and Gmail mobile did not make that easy, but it was worth it.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

Whee! I hope everyone liked them! That meatloaf was motherfucking badass and again, we all, even me, peeled off the bacon and didn’t eat it. Just for the look.

      • Damon says:

Those are great! You’re kids are kinda hairy though.
Why didn’t you eat the bacon? Is it raw? Not eating bacon is unpatriotic at best and treasonous at worst.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

Thanks! Yeah it was pretty raw, probably very similar to the level of bacon-ness that broke our friend Hatboy.

But I did microwave it crispy later and THEN we ate it. In a few installments, I’m trying to cut back.

      • stchucky says:

Ah, so it was raw, I thought the photo was just pre-cooking but I get it, that could be kind of slimy. Glad you are it in the end. Oh, and there were a few shots of the rest of the Patriot family but I left them unpublicised for reasons of privacy.

My own experience was with pork meat rather than bacon, I was quite a fan of bacon and cooked ham as a kid but now, not so much. It’s not bacon’s fault. I’m just glad there are turkey and horse substitutes. Mmm, horse.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

That was pre-cooking. But it didn’t cook that much. IT was 3 lbs of meat under it, somehow that cooked but the bacon really did not.

        Anyway.

      • stchucky says:

For real, I don’t know why you wouldn’t eat the bacon. Unless it wasn’t cooked? I’d think it would be nice, if you like bacon.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

I just..fucking posted that it was raw.

Now will you be quiet? I’m watching BvS finally, the ultimate cut.

And we need to talk about it.

Or rather, all the whiners needed to NOT talk about it, is what I’d say. It’s pretty damn good.

      • Damon says:

Ick, BvS? Glad you ate the bacon, but even raw it would be more palatable than BvS! (I do plan on watching the Superfriends Snyder bullshit because, why not?) In the pantheon of comic book movies Snyder falls somewhere south of Tank Girl. Yeah, I said it! Also, the GOT show sucks! HOT TAKEZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
        I got more! BRING IT!

      • aaronthepatriot says:

OK someone is clearly drunk. I have zero tolerance for bad movies. BvS is fine, GoT was fine. They laid it all out for you. sorry you got your fee fees hurt. ScreenRant nailed it in his pitch meeting.

      • damon says:

Not drunk at all or even particularly close. Really just fucking around. Except about GoT. I tried to watch it but the film quality looked like it was shot on VHS and I couldn’t get over that. I enjoyed the books until they became a death slog at the end.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

Shot on…VHS? That’s a new one for me. I can’t really even, just…. Nah. Gonna move on!

      • stchucky says:

Now fellas. I admit to a morbid interest in the Batman vs Superman Snyder Cut, it’s meant to be good. Justice League was some nonsense but Wonder Woman and Aquaman will make me forgive a lot. I’m on board for more DC flailing but I’m Team Deadpool all the way. DC has too many ninjas.

And I have a soft spot for Tank Girl which is one part Lori Petty, one part mutant gangsta kangaroos and four parts brunette Naomi Watts. I Have Spoken.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

        But…Deadpool is…a ninja….

Also so is Moon Knight, Black Widow, Taskmaster…I’m sure there’s more from Marvel, they just haven’t all made it to the screen.

And now that I’m making this list, DC has Batman, and…uhh…hmm.

Also you’re misnaming the movie cuts…while the BvS I just saw IS the cut by Snyder he called it the Ultimate Cut. The Snyder cut is of Justice League, and it sounds like you’re not interested in seeing that one. Neither am I, actually.

Some weird shit happened with that, being “released” and now, what, pulled back? I’m not interested enough to have followed more than the headlines, but…strange.

As for Batman vs. Superman, The Ultimate Edition (/Cut fuck I can’t remember now either), let me just lay out the things I saw as criticisms of the movie (in general, I don’t remember “the cut” being said to fix anything but the jumbled plot), that I think are total BS now after finally watching it. Also fuck you to those criticisms from places I trusted because they kept me from watching it for all this time.

These will just be assertions I will refute, that’s the format imma take.

Aquaman was “holding his breath.” LOL! Bullshit he was, that’s a stretch. I was looking for it and it didn’t slap me in the face.

Batman doesn’t kill people!!!! Well, I bet he does somewhere in the comics and the stakes are so much higher here. Fuck off, babies. It worked for me.

The actor playing Luthor was just his same role as every other movie!!!! Uh, no, I’ve seen him in many and I know what they mean. I think they let his typecast bias them into seeing it where it wasn’t.

Batman fighting Superman was totally contrived and didn’t make sense!!!! Um, it made as much sense as the Civil War in Marvel but ok, losers.

No, let me unpack that one a little more. See, I saw (see saw, hee) that part of the plot as being a commentary on media manipulation, and “terrorism”, and emotional responses to what we think is going on that cause overreactions. And it worked. I think it worked.

The “Martha” solution was ridic!!! OK, I think it was silly but I also think it makes sense in the same line as the previous issue. It was long enough to give pause, and then YOU FUCKERS LIED TO ME and said Batman stopped fighting Superman because their mothers were both Martha! Fucking LIARS! There was a pause, and then they talked about how Luthor was manipulating them both. THAT is what stopped the fight.

I’m sure there’s a fuckload more. There’s a lot of inconsistency in how you kill a Krypon…ite? Shit what do you call Superman and Zod and all them? Kryptonian I guess. OK, that.

So Superman can snap Zod’s neck without Kryptonite being in play. OK. But a nuke can’t snap superman’s neck? Nor can Batman, apparently, even after weakening him with Kryptonite. Instead he drags him over to the spear…shouldn’t have needed to.

Also pushing the spear out the back of Doomsday so that it’s NO LONGER TOUCHING IT should not have been the victory move, that makes NO sense.

And mixing human DNA with Kryptonian makes that abomination? How? Also Superman stop fucking Lois ASAP CAN YOU NOT SEE THE DANGER???? LOL Also how did Luthor know that? From the archives I guess?

Also on the nuke, we are not ready to target NEW targets IN SPACE with nukes that quickly. That was ridiculous. Also they can’t target moving targets like that, not how it works.

Well, anyway. I thought it was a fun romp, and a lot of the criticisms were BS (But not all), and I found a few new ones.

But I’m very critical of movies, as Hatboy knows, so I tend to draw a line when people are MORE critical than I am (also as Hatboy knows). So I’m drawing a line here.

      • stchucky says:

        But…Deadpool is…a ninja….

Also so is Moon Knight, Black Widow, Taskmaster…I’m sure there’s more from Marvel, they just haven’t all made it to the screen.

Yeah, nope. Nope, nope, nope, and we’ve had this conversation before and you concurred. Deadpool and Taskmaster aren’t remotely ninjas. Don’t know or care about Moon Knight, and Black Widow is dull so if you want to classify her as a ninja, go for it.

Ra’s Al Ghul and the Hand, they’re ninjas. And they, and Batman, are boring as fuck.

Also you’re misnaming the movie cuts…while the BvS I just saw IS the cut by Snyder he called it the Ultimate Cut. The Snyder cut is of Justice League, and it sounds like you’re not interested in seeing that one. Neither am I, actually.

        Huh.

I’d heard that Batman vs Superman got butchered and there was some new cut of it. Never heard of the Ultimate Cut, but Batman vs Superman was a load, I only enjoyed it because I was tanked. But yes, apparently the full proper Snyder Cut release of Justice League is coming out in 2021.

I’m vaguely interested in any remakes that are supposed to dramatically change the nature and quality of the movie, and it was Batman vs Superman I’d heard about being available on HBO? I’m not that curious though. Batman vs Superman was the one with the Flash turning up from the future and Batman having visions. Yeah, it was pretty dumb.

How fucking stupid that they messed the Cut names around. Classic DC.

Aquaman was “holding his breath.” LOL! Bullshit he was, that’s a stretch. I was looking for it and it didn’t slap me in the face.

Heh, yeah, what? Never heard this one. Dumb.

Batman doesn’t kill people!!!! Well, I bet he does somewhere in the comics and the stakes are so much higher here. Fuck off, babies. It worked for me.

I remember this, it’s always been a fucking load. Bunch of Nolan Batman incels and neckbeards bitched about it. Fucking Batman murders the fuck out of criminals.

The actor playing Luthor was just his same role as every other movie!!!! Uh, no, I’ve seen him in many and I know what they mean. I think they let his typecast bias them into seeing it where it wasn’t.

Yeah you know what, I thought he was a pretty weird choice for Lex Luthor but I was okay with it. He had that unbearable smarmy smartest-cunt-in-the-room Musk energy. He was fine.

Batman fighting Superman was totally contrived and didn’t make sense!!!! Um, it made as much sense as the Civil War in Marvel but ok, losers.

Agreed. It was fine. Better than the last few Godzilla movies, where they only fought after hours of lead-in. Screw that.

But I’m very critical of movies, as Hatboy knows, so I tend to draw a line when people are MORE critical than I am (also as Hatboy knows). So I’m drawing a line here.

Can confirm. Aaron also drives at exactly the perfect speed so that everyone slower than him is a dangerous slowcoach, and everyone faster than him is a maniac.

        *sirm*

      • aaronthepatriot says:

Well i decided you bullied me into saying deadpool isn’t a ninja so i am appealing to the rest of the blog that if batman is a ninja so is deadpool. Hee! Vote now!

Yes, batman vs superman ultimate cut is what is on HBO max.

I thought those were dreams batman was having, including the future flash moment. They showed batman doing that waking up gasping thing.

But maybe that was one of the ultimate cut improvements?

      • stchucky says:

Batman isn’t a ninja! Only the dudes in black jimjams who do somersaults are ninjas.

But yeah, I definitely bullied you, that sounds like a thing that happens. *snort*

Yeah, in the movie I saw, the Flash came through this weird swibbly portal thing and yelled at Batman to avert … something, I don’t know. So many drinks.

That was the movie right after I got laid off from Lionbridge, and I went WOOHOO AQUAMAN in a silent cinema when Aquaman showed up for two seconds at the end. Good times. Remember cinemas?

      • stchucky says:

It must be the ultimate cut I remember hearing about, it apparently made more sense with Luthor and the future visions and other stuff. I thought that was what the Snyder Cut was. Also the colour scheme was meant to be improved. I didn’t need a new cut of Justice League, only Batman vs Superman.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

You know it also needs to be said, about The Hand and Raz Al’what-the-ghul, paraphrasing Galdaf “They were barely involved!” Not sure why those obscure ninjas that only hardcore fans or know-it-all nerds even know about (in what percentage of the Batman movies of the past 30 years were they featured?) make DC have too many ninjas.

Also in revenge for you declaring who are ninjas willy-nilly and declaring a surfeit of ninjas equally randomly, I have made a decision to dress as a ninja next Halloween. As my friend, you will have to compliment me!

Also I am going to get as many of my girls to dress as ninjettes too. Failing that some of my cats, which I love like children.

        So buckle up, bubba!

I may be a iittle high from the election being called. Hard to say.

Now, time to plan today’s spontaneous party!

      • stchucky says:

I demand you dress as ninjas!

Yeah, mainly they were a thing in one of the Nolan Batman movies, and a thing in the Arrow TV show, and I also watched Gotham and they were in that too I think. I just got tired of them. Especially in Arrow.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

Damn typo, ruined my joke calling Superman a Kryptonite! Argh!

Also, I mean Superman pushed all the *kryptonite* of the spear out of Doomsday…so that was worse than leaving the spearhead buried inside it.

      • stchucky says:

Game of Thrones was fun to watch with friends, and since two of those friends were the BRKNs I didn’t get much dialogue. Then re-watching it with my parents was masochistic fun. I made my peace with its divergence from the books already in season one, and wasn’t bothered by the ending.

I am now curious to see how Martin goes about finishing the books, if he ever does. I vacillate between wishing him well and yelling at clouds about what a fucking jerk he seems to be and how I’ve written literally fifteen novels in the time it’s taken him to write one, while I have a day job and he just sits around talking about how the literary world was better when it was just talented white men like him in the limelight. Fucking Boomer he is.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

It’s ok bro, you’re a talented white man too! I promise we all think that!

  40. Damon says:

Even Karl Fucking Rove thinks the dipshit has no chance.

“Some hanky-panky always goes on, and there are already reports of poll watchers in Philadelphia not being allowed to do their jobs,” Rove said. “But stealing hundreds of thousands of votes would require a conspiracy on the scale of a James Bond movie. That isn’t going to happen. Let’s repeat that: that isn’t going to happen.”

  41. Damon says:

did you hear about the watermark conspiracy?

      • damon says:

Supposedly Trump put a watermark on the LEGAL mail-in ballots so they could be separated to prove fraud. Hahahahaha. People believe this shit.

      • stchucky says:

Oh, that Trump and his 12 dimensional chess moves. Christ.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

How the…but they…what the fuck! LMAO

He went around to all the states and did that? MONTHS Ago when they were preparing the ballots? His lazy ass?

        BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAWE’REALLDOOMED

      • aaronthepatriot says:

You know what? NO! Motherfucker couldn’t send 5 masks to each household but he can watermark MILLIONS of ballots in 50 states????

        JESUS FUCKING WEPT.

    • aaronthepatriot says:

NO, but I saw TYT live videos spammed with watermark comments. Something about the ballots being fake because of a watermark?

There are people from both parties checking all this shit. none of it is possible. I’m so tired of this country. Even Galdaf couldn’t save us.

  42. Damon says:

I was going to post this guy just saying his famous tagline, but the language differences jokes made me laugh too much to deny the whole set. to you. Also, if Trump won then the jokes were too close to home to ignore. https://youtu.be/5GK8ewRec7c

  43. aaronthepatriot says:

And now it’s time for your latest coward update on the US Election! I will do this in the form of the latest 538 Blog entry on the remaining states, with my retorts in-between:

Oh before I begin, let me further theorize that they’re possibly going to do the outrageous and unprecedented step of not calling it before the RECOUNTS. Which has NEVER been how it works and shouldn’t be. Call it on the first count, recounts will take a while and rarely change the outcome.

    FUCKING COWARDS

I’m also worried Republican states like Georgia will start the recount before calling the winner of the first count, which would also be bullshit but totally play into Trump’s hands.

    “NATHANIEL RAKICH
    NOV. 6, 11:19 PM
    We’re Calling It A Night”

But not calling the election you fucking cowards? Got it.

“We don’t expect any major updates overnight, so we’re going to adjourn for the evening and pick things back up tomorrow morning. Here’s where we stand: Biden can clinch the presidency by winning either Pennsylvania or both Arizona and Nevada. And he looks good in all three states:

Pennsylvania: Biden’s lead here keeps widening and now sits at 28,833 votes. What’s more, the remaining 90,000 or so mail-in ballots and 100,000 or so provisional ballots figure to be Democratic-leaning as well. We expect to get more updates from large, blue counties like Philadelphia and Allegheny tomorrow, which may (or may not) inspire the networks to project the state for Biden.

Right, PA flipped to Biden, he’s kept trending up for 4 days, and what remains has a zero chance of turning the trend around for Trump. So you can fucking call this one, assholes.

OH and that means Biden won will you look at that?

“Nevada: After today’s updates, Biden now leads here by 22,657 votes. Although about 124,500 ballots have yet to be counted, they are expected to lean Democratic. Clark County (home of Las Vegas), where most of the outstanding ballots are from, will release its next update at noon Eastern on Saturday and should have the bulk of the counting done this weekend.”

Biden’s lead has doubled, this is almost 2% now and it has not dropped below 5% for 4 days. Again you can fucking call this one, assholes. Nate already said it should be called based on Clark County.

Oh and that means Biden won will you look at that?

“Arizona: Biden currently leads here by 29,861 votes, but an estimated 173,000 ballots (including roughly 47,000 provisional ballots) remain to be counted. Trump needs to win about 59 percent of those (or more) to pull into the lead, but he’s been falling short of that so far. Most of the remaining ballots are in Maricopa County, which will announce its next batch of results Saturday at 11 a.m. Eastern.”

Biden doesn’t need Arizona if you have the balls to call the other 2. But he’ll get Arizona too, just watch.

Finally, there are two states that are not going to be resolved any time soon.

“Georgia: Biden is up here by a little over 4,000 votes — hardly a safe margin with up to nearly 4,200 regular absentee ballots, 8,400 overseas ballots and 14,200 provisional ballots left to count. The secretary of state has already said that the race will go to a recount.”

Biden will win this, again the trend has been constant for him, absentee leans Democratic, Military is basically split, and provisional ballots are probably all the black people they disenfranchised.

BUT HE DOESN’T NEED IT if you call the others like you had some balls.

“North Carolina: North Carolina has coun–”

Stop fucking talking about North Carolina and call it for Trump. It’s still 1% away and unlikely to flip. Jesus you guys are so weak.

24 HOURS ALMOST SINCE THIS RACE COULD HAVE BEEN CALLED. Let’s just put the marker down now, you know they’ll make it to the 24 hour mark.

See, media? That’s how you call based on what you can obviously see.

  44. aaronthepatriot says:

Also, 132,000 new cases yesterday, 123,000 the day before…. But please, recount everywhere in enclosed rooms and all that. Trump’s ego has always been more important than our lives.

  45. stchucky says:

There is so much gold on Twitter right now, but one of my favourites so far:

BBC journalist: Mister Biden, a quick word for the BBC?
    Biden: The BBC? I’m Irish.

    *applause*

  46. aaronthepatriot says:

Just watched Enola Holmes with the family, thanks for the recommendation, hatboy! Really fun and sweet movie. We had a massive grilled cheese and tomato basil soup early dinner, then watched. Little victory party. I’m hearing fireworks now.

I thought the movie was a particularly good choice given our incoming first female minority vice president. Baby steps but that’s the thing about baby steps. Everyone who ever walks has to take them, you know?

  47. aaronthepatriot says:

I love the “Trump got the 2020 American experience” joke, maybe it’s a meme by now.

    Got COVID
    Lost his job
    Soon to be evicted

    XD XD XD

  48. stchucky says:

    This was rough, but brilliant:

    • aaronthepatriot says:

I’ll check it out. Does this mean he moved on, finally, past the “trans people, amirite folks?????” stage of his comedy?

    • Toon says:

Not visible in my country. Like half the videos on YouTube. I’d be feeling a little FOMO coming on, if I was a FOMOer.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

I would guess it’s mostly videos from the major news networks that you can’t see, not the great independent media I stick to. For example, and on the subject of what to do about Trump’s voters, can you see this one?

There’s a lot more depth to go into here, even just on that graphic he shows about the top issues for voters and how they changed from 2016 to 2020, but here’s a start. Also relevant to Damon’s post a couple of days ago.

      • stchucky says:

Stupid. Let me see if I can find an open version of it.

      • Toon says:

Yes I could see the David Pakman Show vid, thanks. I’m not sure there is a particular rhyme or reason to what I can and can’t see, you’re probably applying logic to the illogical. Like why can I get a Four Seasons t shirt delivered here but currently not one of Hatboy’s books?

      • stchucky says:

Maybe you could ask for one of my books wrapped in a Four Seasons Total Landscaping T-shirt?

      • Well actually the big cable channels with shows and news are incredibly litigious, and in particular are watching youtube like hawks. So I think there is a lot of rhyme and reason to it, usually. Some of my shows can’t even show the legally allowed 9 seconds of video and audio because they’ll get copyright striked anyway by the networks, and it’s too hard to remove. And a couple of strikes and you’re done, son.

So sometimes they just show a frozen picture and play the audio, crap like that. It’s ridiculous. A far cry from the better days of youtube analysis where they could all show each other’s clips and analyze them, bit by bit, with full context. Man that’s another problem it enables the whole “out of context” argument. Possibly accidentally but who cares, it’s detrimental to free speech and democracy that we can’t share around what these idiots are saying.

Instead the only way to see it is to feed into their power by watching the actual shitty news show. No thanks, I refuse.

So it’s a huge problem and I think it’s why you couldn’t see the SNL clip. Looks like Hatboy is having trouble finding one that’s open, so there you go.

      • stchucky says:

Yeah, this actually makes sense why the copies I found were so shonky. One had a zoomed-in screen with a big frame of Pokémon drawings around it, clearly intended to hide the content from a robo scanner. Another was tuned to a higher pitch, and that was just annoying. All done to disguise the fact that copyrighted material was being re-Tubed.

  49. hee hee

    TYT > Dave Chappelle:

  50. stchucky says:

    So this seems bad.

    • aaronthepatriot says:

That it was privatized or deleted? Maybe…tyt is still making terrifying videos, for now, so….

      • stchucky says:

Trump appointing four new … something? High ranking staff. Pentagon officers are worried, saying it’s a dictator move, gearing up to a coup once something sticks to this election fraud wall they’re throwing everything against. Something better give soon. Otherwise we’re going to be doing this right up to January 20th.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

Oh yes. That. Indeed. If they think, as Pimpeo said that it will be a peaceful transition into a second trump term, they’ve got a rude awakening coming because it MOTHERFUCKING will not be peaceful.

Although trump already said that so maybe he was just being “funny”. I was gonna share the video but I feel like I’ve been dominating this thread already. Like a bawse but still.

  51. Just finishing the watch on Alaska, looks like it will go to Trump and the Republican senator. There was a jump in favor of Biden and the Democratic Senator with Tuesday’s 11% of mail-in ballots, but not the most recent batch. And it’s really frustrating. Still, only 78% of votes counted, and it’s REALLY not a lot of votes TO count. No idea why they can’t finish the fucking job. They must have a blind, quadriplegic polar bear counting the ballots, but I think I can stop watching Alaska now.

    • stchucky says:

What’s your current mood regarding the challenges, recounts and other fuckery? How do we get to a position where “independent judiciary” rather than the media calls the result unarguably? Do we ever get there? January 20th, 11:59:59am?

      • stchucky says:

Is LegalEagle dependable? Asking Toon as a legal professional who works with lawyers, and Aaron as a Doctor in Internet Punditry.

      • Toon says:

What’s the difference between something being unlawful and illegal?
One is against the law, the other’s a sick bird.
        Ha ha lawyer joke.
        Like that? Here’s another –
Why do lawyers’ have three hands?
Because they’ve got a left hand, a right hand, and on the other hand…
Now what’s your question? Do I need to watch that video? I doubt I’ll know the answer, the US politicisation of judicial appointments is frankly mystifying to me. But on the other hand…. LOL

      • stchucky says:

I was just wondering about that YouTuber’s veracity. I watched the video and it didn’t seem to be saying anything I haven’t heard fifty times already – the mass of cases have very little chance of success, most of them are being thrown out, and at least three states would have to flip for it to make an electoral college difference and that seems pretty much impossible – but still good to see an “objective” view? If that’s what he is, as a representative of the “impartial courts” that will be deciding this.

He did lead with the suggestion that whatever happens, it’s good that these cases and challenges are happening, because people should be able to question the legality of the democratic process and see justice being done with full transparency, so in the future this might lead to advances in the way things are done. I can’t help but agree with that, but Trump just seems to poison everything with his bullshit and I want us to move past that stage already. I’m impatient.

      • aaronthepatriot says:

LegalEagle is great! Very logical and professional, I especially like the commentary he provides about the legal process and the mistakes Trump’s Z-Team is making, how some of those would get you fired at any major law firm. Really good to hear confirmation that only bozos are working for Trump at this point.

I’m not subscribed to LE but I do check in with him on the major issues…Mueller Report, Impeachment, and now the 2020 election. I think you can depend on his accuracy and honesty.

Actually I work with a lot of lawyers at the NRC, and his demeanor, word choice, etc. reminds me of the best of them, the most cautious of them, with only a small nod to the personality/performance nature of being a Youtube personality.

Also you can tell he’s not on Trump’s side, so there’s that. But on some of the aforementioned topics, he told me things I didn’t want to hear, so that’s another sign he’s honest.

      • stchucky says:

I had a gut reaction to hearing him say it was ultimately good all this shit was happening, but other than that it was smooth sailing on this particular video and I found it reassuring after my dumb sewn-up arse spent too many minutes bitterness-watching Awaken With JP videos today. It galls me to see the following in his comments, I want him to deserve better people. But I won’t rant about it.

      • stchucky says:

Instead, enjoy this beautiful exchange from Twitter today after Nick Harkaway (favourite author among discerning Hatstanders *cough cough*) posted a cute but digitally enhanced video of a chameleon changing colours as it climbed up a stack of pens:

I don’t know what you’re talking about with Awaken with JP and his comments but I’ll assume I do until you elaborate. Alt-right gonna wrong.

Yeah I hear you on the “these legal challenges are overall a good thing.” I mean, they’re bullshit, so no they’re actually not. But he’s gotta say that to be “fair”. Because in general they would be, if they weren’t initiated by liars and frauds. If the Texas Lt Governor wasn’t putting a fucking BOUNTY on election fraud information, like someone got murdered in the wild west.

If someone actually saw something wrong and they investigated it, that’s great, and that’s what he’s saying. He’s not the sort of person who is going to assume, based on politics or history or anything else, that someone making a legal accusation is lying. That sort of thing is not his bag, baby. He believes in the system, that judges and lawyers will suss out that bullshit. And so far it looks to be true, even with Trump’s crony judges.

What I’ve been wondering about, and mildly worrying and angry about, is are we missing any voter fraud from the RIGHT wing, FOR Trump, as we laser focus on potential Biden fraud. That’s not even being considered as far as I can tell. Biden isn’t challenging ANYTHING.

But then I remind myself, voter and election fraud are incredibly rare, for all elections leading up to 2020 (like 0.0025% or something), so there would have to be a massive increase over norms to have any impact at all. So I guess it’s ok.

But it’d be nice to go back to investigating right-wing fraud, eventually. If we could thanks.

Correct. I don’t want to give him bandwidth here (I’m already doing that too much by even griping about it), but that’s how it is.

Oh, and he would call this censorship. Because freedom of speech means freedom of a functionally infinite uncritical audience and reach, of course.

Stupid Amazon customers and sci-fi readers, taking away my freedom of speech by not buying my books and telling everyone about them.

Yeah. I can see how a positive could be taken from this. Even if it’s just a handful of Trumpists (a bare handful!) saying “alright, we appealed and the courts decided, I’m not happy about it but democracy is preserved.”

If someone actually saw something wrong and they investigated it, that’s great, and that’s what he’s saying.

Right, exactly. And in the future, that is to be encouraged rather than suppressed.

To be honest I think the same argument (“if it happened, why did he shit the bed so badly?”) applies to Trump as easily as to Biden. Chances are, both sides were shonky about it and I find it easy to believe that Trump’s side was shonkier. But … well, remember that episode of The Simpsons when Homer became sanitation commissioner because he promised the white-uniformed garbage men would come and wipe your butt for you and the incumbent commissioner lured children to his lollipop house? How fucking prophetic is The Simpsons, first of all … but second of all, my point is, Homer didn’t need to commit election fraud beyond the barrage of lies to his dumbarse voters.

Painting Biden as a socialist, making the Latino community of Florida so scared of the US becoming another Cuba under the democrats, was enough. There was probably some dumbfuck fraud too (like those chuckleheads with the hummer full of ballots, and the watermarking thing), but it was stopped. As 99.999% of voter fraud, fucking miraculously, is.

In fact just like you say here:

But then I remind myself, voter and election fraud are incredibly rare, for all elections leading up to 2020 (like 0.0025% or something), so there would have to be a massive increase over norms to have any impact at all. So I guess it’s ok.

Right. Let me adjust my 99.9975% to match your estimate. There.

But it’d be nice to go back to investigating right-wing fraud, eventually. If we could thanks.

I’ll settle for Trump being put to the same coals as Hillary was, and locked up if it’s at all possible (and it should be). I know there was deep concern about Trump’s “lock him / her up” rhetoric and imprisoning opponents, and this can easily be turned around … but when those opponents faced justice and won, that was it. He needs to do the same. I’m concerned that Biden is going to pardon him in return for a concession. Hopefully Biden’s tough “we don’t need him to concede” stance holds out.

I just feel like you do, that the democrats are too establishment and spineless to prosecute. It would be biting the hand that feeds them.

Why do lawyers’ have three hands?

Because they’ve got a left hand, a right hand, and on the other hand…

Fun fact, I have taken care to use the phrase “on another hand” whenever I’m writing a Molran point of view in my stories, because they have four hands.

      • Toon says:

        My jokes are fucking great.
        Why don’t sharks attack lawyers?
        Professional courtesy.
I could go on like that ALL night….
But okay… I will tell you my thoughts.
Being of an efficient nature I didn’t spend 30 minutes watching a video you told me you had already heard the substance of before, I spent 3 minutes watching the video and 15 minutes googling the guy behind it. Because you always want to know who is on the other side.
If the internet info is legit – yep, the guy got a JD from UCLA, and then worked at an international and then a large national firm, all of which screams considerable legal competency, and the advice for law students I quickly scanned that he had produced was concise, accessible, sensible and helpful. Which if he carries on into his legal eagle youtuber analysis, I would say yes, well worth listening to, in conjunction with some of the US legal academics’ analysis that is also widely available – getting the theoretical academic viewpoint and the active litigator’s views together generally gives you a good overall picture of a potential outcome. It is good when things get tested in court both for transparency and getting judicial consideration and guidance on specific questions. But what is legally interesting is also generally considered an expensive and time consuming pain in the arse for most people. That’s my thoughts without actually watching the video ‘cos I’m feeling a wee bit tired. It’s 10pm Friday night and it’s been a looong week.

      • So, Toon’s tl;dr post basically says my brain is still in excellent shape and I am an incredible judge of character and intellect in others.

        SWEET

      • stchucky says:

Now let’s not be throwing tl;drs around, Mister The Patriot.

But yes, you are an amazing pundit slash genius, to paraphrase Brooklyn 99.

      • stchucky says:

        Why don’t sharks attack lawyers?

        Professional courtesy.

I do love this one. Many would say it does sharks a disservice but I fucking know sharks.

Anyway, this was precisely the sort of dive I was looking for, thanks for going to the trouble! It was very reassuring. Get some sleep, at least some of us should sleep at some point. I woke up at like 01:00am this morning and couldn’t get back to sleep, now feel like microwaved shit in a cup.

      • You want to talk about election fraud, in fact if not in law, how about running shadow candidates to pull votes away from Democrats?

      • stchucky says:

        Like Kanye? Or someone else?

This sort of skirts into how unutterably fucked your two-party system is to almost every proper democracy in the world, and how preferential voting would make things so much better … a vote for X is a vote for Trump? How about a vote for X is a vote for X?

Of course, I don’t see this system changing, because every time your two parties swap, they undo the other’s work and nobody will trust either side to make election reform that isn’t self-serving. It’ll never pass. So what do you do?

      • stchucky says:

Sorry, I answered in the comments column where the video doesn’t actually show up, stupid WordPress. Not Kanye, then. I’ll check it out but I suspect my comment will remain largely unaltered.

      • Toon says:

Are we agreed Hatboy that sharks are rather fucking scary when you’re out in the ocean having a swim? You might appreciate this story. You should look on the shark sighting app for Perth sometime, I’m not actually sure whether it’s a good thing or not to know what is out there.
Last weekend (after we had earlier agreed as a family it was looking overcast and a bit sharkey out there) one of my teenagers (who for purposes of this blog shall hereby be called “Irish” – you like that Hatboy?) told me he and his friends were on an unpatrolled stretch of beach when they checked the app and saw three hammerheads had been sighted to the beach south of them, and a great white to the beach north of them. I thought that meant they had sensibly stayed out of the water, but “oh no” said Irish “we still went in, we were just checking what was around”. Lovely. See why I’d just rather not know?

      • stchucky says:

Heh, Irish. No shame in that.

Yes, I am completely on the same page re: sharks, I remember hammerheads around Rotto while snorkelling and – well, my dad and sister both surf and my brother’s pretty active too, so obviously they’ve all got stories and lost friends. Not for nothing are the nastiest beasties in my books intelligent sharks.

      • “What’s your current mood regarding the challenges, recounts and other fuckery? How do we get to a position where “independent judiciary” rather than the media calls the result unarguably? Do we ever get there? January 20th, 11:59:59am?”

Last question first, we just might. It’s insane, the number of things that will go wrong if he drags this all the way out to Inauguration. I just detailed this for my wife, and just the high-level things are devastating if you take the position that Trump will do nothing and nothing will be done TO Trump.

And based on the pattern these past 4 years, it’s not unreasonable to assume all that. No one has stopped him in any way so far…will any of these catastrophic events force action from Republicans, the ONLY ones who can do anything?

Pandemic is exploding, 161 thousand cases yesterday, and no action will be taken for 9 more weeks.

Trump is planning to ramp up sanctions and therefore tensions with Iran, maybe even start a war, who knows?

Unemployment benefits are going to expire soon and there’s really no hope for legislation.

The government will shut down on 11 Dec again because Trump is not going to do ANYTHING
That means it will be closed for about 6 weeks. Just making that clear. At a minimum, that’s optimistic really.

The eviction moratorium ends on 1 January 2021 and again, no legislative action…that means about 30 million evicted households, potentially.

And that’s not even considering that he might still try to perform a coup, either soon or at the last minute, who knows.

So those are the major items on the playlist if he doesn’t ever concede.

As for the rest I think we need to start by laying out as much “facts” as we know, and then try to piece it all together into something that makes the most sense we can. So in this post, I’m going to conclude with that list of the facts as best as I can, without trying to fit them together into anything just yet. I’m not sure if doing so will point me toward a conclusion or not. This is the first time I’ll be trying to think about all the madness at the same time.

So far, there have been no credible cases of election or voter fraud supporting Biden. Almost every legal case has been thrown out, people have recanted their statements, etc. The few cases that Trump won were just marginal cases where his observers were given more benefits (which were shared with the Democrat ones because it has to be equal). That’s really all he’s won so far. No evidence for anything else has been presented.

Businesses are snubbing Trump and going with the Biden win narrative. Twitter is snubbing all of his fraud tweets etc. Pfizer snubbed him and Pence on the vaccine credit they tried to take.

Oh, on Pence, he’s fucking disappeared. Maybe important.

40% of Republicans, 20% of the country (I think it’s all the same folks) don’t accept the election results.

People I trust are saying almost all the Republican politicians accept that Biden won. Trump staffers are saying the same. National lead is 5 million and will be much higher come the end.
The leads in all the Biden states is getting larger and larger by the day, it’s way beyond recount in all but Georgia, and beyond any of these legal challenges in every case.

Trump is credibly reported to be in an incredibly fragile, butthurt emotional state where even the mention of Biden is verboten, etc.

There has been a bloodbath of top officials since the election, 4 at the pentagon, more I’m forgetting, top DOJ election official resigning over Barr getting involved, others quitting as well. The top replacement at the pentagon thinks Obama is a Muslim and tried to coup Trump. So turnabout is fair play?

One of the top law firms that was working with Trump has now quit.

There are two special Senate election in Georgia that are vital to both parties, and a narrative that would increase Republican turnout is being sought.

Back to the top with Trump doing nothing, he might have refused to help with those election unless Republicans support him now. Or no pro, just the quid and quo again you know. Trump could totally depress the vote there if he wanted. Which would be awesome. I still think he refuses to do anything to help, which is also great.

Trump’s fundraising emails for the lawsuits, election, etc., all have a significant initial kickback to Trump, and to his ELECTION campaign. He’s trying to milk his supporters one last time, and pay off election campaign debts. First $8,000 per person and something like 50% of all donations goes to not the legal cases but to the election campaign and Trump himself.

Trump is planning on starting up the rallies again, for further fundraising as above.

All the major news channels including Fox have not only called it for Biden, but almost all of even Fox’s hosts are proceeding with discussions as if Trump lost. For example, the crying over AOC saying Trump aides shouldn’t get jobs in DC so easily in the next administration. If he won, why worry about it?

Those Trump aides are sending out their resumes and deleting their tweets. Rats fleeing the sinking ship?

Trump is a child and hates being in the White House, so surely he won’t stay barricaded in there through Xmas and the New Year, right?

Finally recall it’s up to the military to remove him if he won’t go. And the Secret Service. Both Biden and Trump will have Secret Service with them at all times.

I think that’s all I can come up with for now. Any other key facts for inclusion before we try to make predictions/CONclusions?

      • stchucky says:

Oh, right, and this was a lot. Sorry I didn’t get to responding before.

And even now, I don’t have a response so much as a wow look at what a lot this is. So, I’ll go with that.

Every day that passes without some official and “impartial” call on this makes it that much more difficult. I’m seeing the white supremacist domestic terrorists out in force and the Trump dynasty sharing the final twelve seconds of each video where the MAGAite gets lit out. They’re so fucking satisfying to watch even if I have little respect for violence. It’s an elemental part of human nature, but beyond that?

So when does the electoral college and the whatever-the-fuck court make the ruling? It’s not all the way in January is it? I guess we’re waiting. But in the meantime, fuck their feelings. It is what it is. And a lot of other horrible dumb shit that is so, so easy to turn back around on these losers.

      • Dec 15th we will have the official call. Although if EVERY OTHER ELECTION is any guide (fuck you, JP) it’s already called.

That’s 4 weeks away. I don’t see how we make it.

      • stchucky says:

Alright, so December 15th is what we’re now pinning our hopes on for the last chance for these mooks to admit reality? And then justice and democracy will be served and they’ll totally be alright with it all?

I mean, for real, I’m not actually seeing anyone saying these legal protests and cases and appeals shouldn’t be done. That they’re empty and stupid and psychotically crooked and immature, yes definitely – but not actually calling for them to end.

I’m sure there are a few such calls. But my point is, this is cancel culture crybabyism in a nutshell. They’re crying that “we” want the court cases and the truth stopped. This has never been the case, even when it screwed us over (as it did again and again the past few years). And we’ll allow it again because we actually believe in freedom and democracy.

But when that decision is made, oh boy these fucksnorts had best shut their mushroom-holders.

      • stchucky says:

In other news, from now on “uhuh, look at this stupid person. Hey you, stupid person, don’t you know you’re stupid” is going to be my go-to response to stupid people.

      • Let’s hope we stop hearing from them on the 15th but who can really say. I suppose that’s the next date for Trump to try and start the Revolution/Civil War/Coup.

And yeah, we’re not cancelling the legal cases, we’re just saying they don’t amount to much of anything, even if they were resulting in wins for the Trump side, which they’re not. So even with the cases we can see Biden won because the worst number of ballots to throw out can’t even swing Georgia, at 15,000 for the lead for Biden.

Of course, and this ties in to your little comment thread you just attached, they just came up with a new BS argument that “how much fraud is acceptable???” or “no amount of fraud is acceptable!!!!” Basically, meaning if any of this, even for 1 vote, turns out to be fraud to help Biden win, then Trump wins instead.

That’s. Not. How. It. Works. How could that POSSIBLY be how it works? All you’d need is one false flag operation, then, and you could swing the election to your candidate.

And speaking of the BS conversation you just pasted in there, holy shit, he really tried to redefine the issue and control our behavior, didn’t he? And I know it’s a he, even though I’m assuming.

No, you don’t “have” to “pass over” everything you don’t like or else you’re cancelling. If that’s required I invite that fuckwit to the TYT comments section. For at least 5 years now, alt-righters have been directing their audiences to hate every TYT video, usually without even watching it. So he just admitted that’s cancelling, if I accept his BS.

But you and I both know that’s crap. You can’t ignore fascists, if you do they will grow and win. You MUST speak out.

And he’s doing the same thing I remember alt-righters complaining about with us using the word “problematic.” Their issue with it is that it means “that isn’t illegal but it’s wrong and you therefore can’t and shouldn’t do it or you are wrong.”

Well, it does kind of mean that you shouldn’t do it, yes. But that’s just you having a problem with me thinking you did something wrong. Fucking waaaah. Same shit here.

      • stchucky says:

Exactly! All that is required for evil to be victorious is for good people to do nothing. To paraphrase. And in redefining a problem that has always existed because that’s now cultural discourse works as a new and dangerous thing that “the left” is guilty of, that is precisely what is being put forward as the solution. Do nothing.

But speaking out and denying the voices of hate a platform (to which they are not entitled, not even in the US where freedom of speech is enshrined in law) is not the same as hounding them to their homes and threatening them with rape and death. And I admit I don’t go looking for that shit and I’m sadly sure it exists on the left, and has for a long time. But it is a tool of terrorists, and the data is in on where most of the fucking terrorists are.

      • Yup. I was rephrasing that old, very true adage.

I’m finding myself REALLY amused at thinking of how Trump never fucking pays anyone who doesn’t get exactly the results he wants, and yet all these lawyers are running around doing his bidding apparently unaware there’s no paycheck at the end.

Also, they should ALL be disbarred. If they even brought a case based on knowable lies or zero evidence in these dangerous times, they should be disbarred. I want to see a bloodbath, of disbarring, in 2021.
