Day 29. 83 pages, 37,711 words.
I’ve been getting up early the past … three mornings to get a bit of writing done before I have to drive Toop to daycare and myself to work. It’s actually been pretty good and I’ve gotten a satisfying amount written. My progress graph is still arcing down into a slow point, because I’ve arrived at a complicated part of the story and am doing a lot of rearrangement and thinking about it all.
Anyway, I’ve managed to hold it together quite well, aside from a bit of short-temperedness with the kids that I have to admit I probably would have had anyway. No really disturbing or entertaining sleep-deprivation-related issues or creations, sorry to say (alright, maybe a couple of bits of artwork that I might share, but not today). Part of that is probably to do with the fact that I’m not exactly sleep-deprived – we’ve been turning in fairly early so I’ve still managed to get 4 – 5 hours of sleep a night.
Still, will probably sleep in tomorrow morning (mmm, until seven in the morning, what hedonism!). I’m not wretchedly tired, but I am sort of low-key run-down and I’ve noticed increasing discomfort in my joints if I don’t get enough sleep. Old age is a terrible thing.
Yep, that’s about all I’ve got. Australia’s political scene is once again smiling placidly and shitting its pants while making full eye contact with the rest of the world, but I don’t have the energy to talk about it much right now. Just stay tuned for a new Prime Minister before long, and hope it turns out to be more Gilderoy Lockhart than Dolores Umbridge.
