And here’s the cover, for those of you who have yet to see it. I made some sample chapters for Worldcon, with the cover attached and Gabriel Gajdoš’s details added so people would be encouraged to hit him up for some work, because he really is going from strength to strength. I’m thrilled to have played my part in nurturing his talent and giving it … if not the funding it truly deserves, then at least the funding he generously agreed on charging me, and which I am grateful to be able to afford.
Anyway, as I was saying, I already “released” this at Worldcon so it’s not exactly spoiling it to post it here. The twenty or so people who grabbed a copy there, with any luck, will be waiting for the book and this won’t be a surprise to them. The story itself will hopefully be ready for publishing by the end of September, as I have given my editors until the middle of September to read and comment.
Of course, this is a cover that just raises even more questions than the book’s title already did, but they’re unlikely to be brought to light on the blog, on account of a few of my main commenters also being editors, and hopefully not wanting to spoil the surprise.
Anyway, that’s the weekend.
