Long Easter Weekend Spectacular 2017 (2)

Day 20. 4 pages, 1,549 words.

There’s not a whole lot going on this weekend, at least for me. We were supposed to watch some TV with the Palokii and the BRKNs on Thursday, but since I’m pre-writing this on Thursday I guess I don’t know yet whether that happened. I’m willing to bet it did though.

[Follow-up: It did, but the Palokii couldn’t attend.]

Season 3 of Black Sails is the name of the game, since apparently HBO Nordic is already swinging season 4 around like Charles Vane’s enviable member. I wish Netflix was a bit faster with its shows and movies, and boy do I ever wish they’d get rid of the “we’ll show you search results even for things available only in parts of Netflix you don’t as a law-abiding EU user actually have” feature … but I can’t complain. I mean, I can … but I won’t. It’s not as if we watch TV shows at a tremendous rate or go through movies with relentless punctuality. And Netflix is great for the price we pay (ie. zero euros a month).

Speaking of Netflix, we’re currently munching our way through a hundred-odd episodes of Grimm. What an unexpectedly great show.

If you’d told me, at the beginning of the year, that by April one of my top 10 television show characters would be the Big Bad Wolf (and a bunch of nervous beavers), I would have laughed in your face. I mean, I was pretty drunk at the beginning of the year, and you have to admit that thing you hypothetically told me does sound pretty weird.

I’m really enjoying it and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone. Give it a couple of episodes just to be sure, but I liked it from the pilot.
