I’m still waiting on a cover for book #7, and editorials and a cover for book #8. This isn’t a big deal, because I want to be sure both Damorak and Human are eligible for the 2017 Hugos.

In the meantime, I thought I would do something completely different. And I mean completely. Like, high fantasy.

And that’s still the plan.

But the past week or two of dithering, waiting until my seared synapses return to full function, has shown me something. The plan is going to have to wait a little bit longer. Because the FFoMiverse hasn’t quite finished with me yet.

Yes, there’s the sequel series rumbling away like a Yellowstone geyser. I won’t be doing that until after I’ve worked on something else. Not unless something goes very sideways on me.

But I think the short stories, and the illustrated Tales, will have to be cleared. I need to lay them to rest, or give them a chance to struggle into the light of day, or they’re not going to give me a moment’s peace.

To be continued.

This is so great to see you excited like this, unable to contain the creativity. Madison was the same way this weekend, out of nowhere, on her book. She said she had a lot of ideas, and she wrote for hours, between Saturday and Sunday. Which is hard with her little sister around, I can tell you.

During the second session I was reading Human, and she noticed and asked me if it was good. She looked really interested in the way only one writer can be about another, and also that her dad is really into writing and writers.

I told her it was shit but I was muddling through for closure.
