Argh Tuesday

Day 10. 141 pages, 63,858 words.

Nothing much to add today. I finally took the step of whopping all my Final Fall of Man books together into one PDF, to make it easier to search for references and plot points. It was a pain to open up all seven one after the other in Adobe Reader, and search them one after another.

She’s a decent old size, though.

The total series, then, should be pretty close to 3,000 pages[1]. Or three George RR Martin books. Which is not bad, I think. I suppose I shouldn’t boast too much about overtaking him, given the relative volumes … but since I started this series a good year or two after reading A Dance With Dragons, I think it is fair to say that I’m writing three times faster than Martin is at this stage.

[1] Probably more, because I suspect Book 8 is going to be longer than the others. Hopefully not ridiculously longer, but almost certainly closer to Molran‘s length than any of the others. Guess it depends on how much needs to get wrapped up and how carried away I get.

Anyway, on with the Tuesday.

It’s time to up your game…writing faster than Martin has been? C’mon, man. Let’s see you write faster than SANDERSON! Can’t stump the Sanders! On!

Well, I published Eejit at the end of 2014. Since then, Sanderson has written three big novels, two small novels, four novellas, one short story and the first part of a graphic novel. So yeah, fair cop. I need to quit my day job if I’m going to catch that smooth-cheeked motherfucker.

That counts Sanderson’s achievements through all of 2014, mind you. I published in November. Having started writing in around August.
