Day 58. 208 pages, 100,218 words.
I’m really getting close to finishing this, but also starting to get into the swing of things at the new job. Stuff keeps hitting my inbox and I’m still at a bit of a loss what to do with it all, but I’m chipping away at it and hoping that eventually all the meetings and trainings will fall together. So far, it’s happening. It’s just easy to sit at my desk with PDFs scrolling past me, and feel like it’s just never going to make sense.
Ah well, it’s fairly familiar new-project ground, with the added benefit of being the only thing I need to learn. Yes, it’s a big thing, but there’s no added “internal” stuff to keep in my head, because this is the internal stuff. And there won’t be a new project and all new processes in six months, the odd new tool or system notwithstanding. This is it.
Easy does it.
Wump and I beta-tested the new board game last night, despite me being down with a cold and her catching a bit of a bug roo, poor thing. We played until almost 22:00pm, at which point I was rather relieved to be blown up by a bomb. This is actually a very cool game that my five-year-old has made up almost completely without help. Talk about a chip off the old block.
