For the Horde, Part 5

Day 36. 133 pages, 60,943 words.

For a time this was a life
We found quite satisfying
With no more thought to all the strife
And all the thousands dying.

And yet, to carry on this way
Was not a cheering thought
Inevitably dawned the day
We decided what we ought.

Alas, my horde was ne’er to be
My conquest unfulfilled
And so it was, May twenty-three
They lined up to be killed.
