Ramblin’ Saturday

Day 31. 74 pages, 35,427 words.

I’m just going to leave this here for today. This was what I managed to capture before it got out of hand.

This is all I could screencap before it got really weird.

Now I look at it, this photo caption almost sounds like the opening lines to a really weird verse of the Battle Hymn of the Republic.

I would make notes, but I really don’t need to. Contro’s statements come to me with distressingly natural ease these days, and Zeegon can always be depended on to say exactly what needs to be said to enhance the Contronity.

I’m also going to add a completely out-of-context animated gif, because an Australian author I rather admire passed away recently, and apparently the obituary was a fucking disgrace.

True story.

So there.

That’s me done for the day.

I’m not gonna waste time trying to figure out who wrote this obituary, because it doesn’t matter. I know in small town papers its often written by a family member, a tradition i rather appreciate. I would think it wouldn’t be hard to have a family member at least proof read the obit for a time like this. If people all over the world are going to read it, make sure the family is going to like it. Or maybe they did, in which case, its really none of our business.

I completely agree. It gets a bit more difficult when this is a figure who means different things to different people (and I can’t entirely get behind the “it’s none of our business” idea), but family surely get the deciding vote. If they approved this obituary I can’t say much for their taste, but I can feel free to write my own obituary. I think my blog already has too many of them, though.

All I can say is, if this obituary made the bereaved feel better, and if they thought the deceased would approve, then it’s all good. I find it a bit hard to believe, and either way, don’t be telling me not to have a reaction to it. That was an offensive-arse obituary.

If anyone thought you took artistic license with Controversial-to-the-End, I trust they have now dropped that line of thought.
